You don’t have to go out of your ways to record footage. It’s just that because Codemasters still can’t figure out how to let us save replays (in the year 2011…) we have to record everything ourselves. And I love being able to go back and relive the fun and the drama.

It’s not a problem at all, I’m happy to do it. There isn’t much I need to delete (most of it I don’t care about), as I use my phone as a phone and not some entertainment device (that’s why I have a iPod Touch).

I use a contoller on the T-bar view.
auto gears, abs, TC on full I think thats all….

I dont have any video recording devices sadly, its annoying as much older Codemasters games had replay saving features.

and how about the highest finishing car scores points for the Morland Mug? say I finish 8th but ShyGuy finishes 6th, just his points go to the MMC (Morland Mug Championship)

Or we could do it so the best 8 results between team mates count?

  • Profile picture of Slr Slr said 1 year, 5 months ago:

I’d prefer the F1′s system, if not then I would choose Moto GP’s system (the system Ratboy suggested). The best eight results I personally don’t like.

I use a wheel and pedals on the T-bar view. Auto gears, abs, TC on full. That’s it I think.

I’m not really into having the controls so advanced, that it makes the game unplayable (for me anyway), as I have quite a short attention span and I’d just get bored quite quickly. :P

Also, sorry you guys, but I wouldn’t be able to record anything. I’ll leave that to some of you that are more capable.

Edit: I also drive with the racing line on the corners only.

Also, @Magnificent-Geoffrey I’m completely easy about driving in a team or on my own, it’s all just a bit of fun at the end of the day isn’t it… even though I may get competitive :P

So, whatever the other guys want to do, I don’t mind at all.

What lap times are you lot managing at Albert Park so far? :)

  • Profile picture of Magnificent Geoffrey Magnificent Geoffrey said 1 year, 5 months ago:

There’s a new system update that’s just gone live by the way. You’ll need to download it to go online, so make sure you do it before Sunday.

@David-A I don’t want to know. I think it would be far more exciting if we all got together on Sunday with no idea about who the favourites are!

Same as Mag about the Albert lap times, also im not really testing until we get to the round, it feels a little like cheating, may just be me though

  • Profile picture of thespuditron thespuditron said 1 year, 5 months ago:

I haven’t tried to set times on any of the tracks. I won’t be either because we’ve had our pre season test, and we all know the in season testing is banned (unless it’s one of those promotional days. Then it’s ok) ;-)

Time trial lap times mean very little, and driving the car in TT has little resemblance to driving the car during the race. But I won’t mention any lap times anyway.

Guys, given there’s a bit of interest to race in the Collantine Cup, would it be a good ideal to create a 1st and 2nd division? At the end of the season the top 4 of the 2nd division fight it out with the bottom 4 of the 1st division to get a chance to race in division 1 the next season? Or you could have the top 8 in Div 1 Vs the top 8 in Div 2 at the end of the season for a mini season (say, running at 10% race distance), winner takes all!!!

Rules and tracks will be the same for both, with MG running Div 1 and someone else running Div 2.

    Thoughts?

@vho We’ve had several people suggest that over the last year, but I think Magffrey wants to keep it as it is. You’re welcome to join all of the other leagues, but the Collantine Cup is by no means the “premier” league. It was the first one created, but I’m sure the best drivers are to be found in other championships on the forum. Have a look around and I’m sure there’s plenty of spots available and they’ll make you feel welcome. I just hope you don’t feel left out of this. :)

OK, the video! I now have an HD Flip camera, but I had to crop this video a bit so it’s no-where near HD quality, but I’ll have the camera closer to the TV for the real thing and minimal cropping will be required and a better picture quality will result from that.

Sorry about all of the corner cutting. I’m not trying to cheat, it’s just I’m terrible at the game!

@damonsmedley I have seen the other championships and it seems there’s still a bit of bickering about who took out who etc. I thought this particular league was a bit more strict in a sense that it only picked drivers that would abide by a code and conduct that is fair and mutual to all competitors – hence it wasn’t an open invitation but by invitation. I’ve driven in online comps and there’s a a lot of “unsavory” drivers who think it’s a smash up derby event. So, I’m not necessarily looking to race against the best but against those who just want to race fair and competitively.
