I would like for split screen to return. I loved being able to play with your mates and familty rather then playing with someone you don’t know a fair while away from you. Don’t get me wrong I like online, just that split screen was also very good.

Ability to protest penalties, better pit action / function, better interaction.

Among a lot of things mentioned here, I’d also like a change to the post-race replay. I’d like to be able to watch the replay from the perspective of a car other than myself. Maybe being able to cycle through which driver you want to watch would be great.
There have been countless races where I’ve come flying around a corner straight into the scene of a 2 or 3 car crash (usually on a street circuit) or if I’m leading the field into the first corner on the opening lap, i look behind and they’ve all been held up in a first corner incident that i couldn’t see.
I’d like to see what happened to them in the replay. Also I finished one race and it said Chandhok was Disqualified?!?! Wtf? I would’ve liked to have seen how the A.I. managed that!

Ummm, Online Time trial and practice sessions.

Also I would like to be able to watch races from other cars once I have been taken out or finished the race as well as replays of online races.

I am sure codeys based the game engine on the Racedriver GRID one and most of these features were availabe in that game!

Always, in Multiplayer, have the possibility at the end of a race to view a replay. If the other players go on to another track, then you are excluded from the race and once you have finished viewing the replay you reeturn to the menu. Also, if you crash and can’t complete a session, have the chance to view other drivers and/or replays other than the results screen.

Why not include GP2 and GP3 in the game just like MotoGP games include Moto2 and 125cc and WRC games include SWRC, PWRC and JWRC? It’d be a realistic career mode.
You start in GP3 and work your way up to GP2 and F1
Or you can expand it even more with Porsche Supercup and Formula BMW

I’d like a version that works on a computer about half as powerful as the minimum specification for F1 2010.

It’s only one request but I don’t think I’ll get my wish somehow…

Codemasters WANT to do all of this stuff, but can’t because of Formula 1 and there ridiculous contracts.
All I want from the 2011 game is for Codemasters to find a way around the contract to allow them to DO all this.
I think I read or listened to something somewhere about updates for the game takes about a 6 weeks or more to get the all clear, because it has to go through lawyers and testers and management and directors and emails and arghhhh…. That is why they haven’t bothered with making a visual update on the cars, so they all have Fducts and new wings and bits and bobs.

    Annoying to say the least.

I wouldn’t mind a 2d top down view mini game while the race loads, to drive your car round a track.
A manager mode would be lovely.
Eddy Jordan as your manager instead of that stupid girl, who is so emotionless.
Love the GP3 to GP2 suggestion.
    Helmet design ***Professor-Drool
    Visual upgrades throughout the season.
Improved everything else, especially the ‘live the life’ aspect.

I think the helmet design would interest me, being creative.

The A.I needs a bit of tweaking. I feel other cars back-out for positions too easily making it a little too easy to overtake.

Car numbers to change for the next season, I’d love to have that number 1 on my car.

Driver changes. I know it would be very hard to because of legal reasons but it would be good to see Vettel in a Ferrari for example. Also where will JB or Hammy go if i move to McLaren, you can;t retire one of them just because they want me, maybe one of them would go to Renault for example.

    - Fixed penalties!!! I keep getting penalties for crashes that aren’t caused by me. It also drives me mad when I have a crash and while returning to the track I get a penalty for “cutting the curve”!

    - Customisation – I would love to be able to put my photo instead of the ANON masked guy in my stats screen. It is also irritating that while you drive f.e. for Toro Rosso you can see J.Alguersuari written on the sides of the car. Helmet design would be nice too.

    - Statistics – an almost complete lack of statistics made me start writing them in a notebook (and getting back in time at leat 10 years in the history of video-games)

    - Podiums – because a press conference is not enough

    - The ability to switch drivers at the end of the season. Codemasters can’t do it because of the contracts with F1, but leaving this option to us – players maybe would do the job.

The idea of a game starting with karting, then GP3, GP2, testing in F1, and finally full-driver job is fantastic. But I think it would be a much too expensive project for any PC games developer right now. But maybe some time..

    - Penalties need to be sorted, they really make no sense
    - Help from your engineer. What the hell is he there for? I want him to tell me when it’s starting to rain, if someone changes from wet to dry (or vice versa) and starts lapping a lot faster.
    - Being able to catch mistakes. Touching a gravel trap DOES NOT spin you automatically. Slightly losing the back end under acceleration DOES NOT mean you spin unless applying the brakes. These things aren’t realistic.
    - Being able to see your team mates set up.
    - Stats. Being able to see all fastest laps of all cars, and keep records. Plus records of all other things.
    - Cameras in replays. I want to be able to see any car. Also I want the cameras to be the same as tv. Those views where the camera flies along with your car are dumb. And a lot of the fixed camera views do that stupid zoom in thing, so you can’t see what’s happening around the car.

As for podiums etc, couldn’t give a crap, they don’t add anything. I want the racing experience to be more realistic.

Different voices for race engineers. Not all of us love Rob Smedley. John Cleese in Basil Fawlty mode, or Sir Patrick Moore, now there would be some awesome race engineer voices.

marshalls to wave their flags like on EA f1 games. The panels that act as the flags to illuminate. Safety Car and the AI to be harder as on some tracks I can be about 2-3 seconds faster than the second placed car in the dry and even more in the wet

    - First of all, helmet designs is a must.
    – A mode for creating your own team, like a manager mode basically. Creating the livery, gaining sponsors, choosing from made-up drivers based on their cost and skill levels. Having the money to upgrade facilities like the wind tunnel and improving your technical department to make sure upgrades for your car are more efficient and quicker produced. That, would be awesome.
    – The penalty system to be sorted out. I don’t understand why I should get a penalty for being crashed into as I come out of the pits, whilst another driver isn’t on the racing line…
    – The AI to be more consistent. How can I be a second faster in qualifying and then be trounced and finish 8th in a race? Even with mistakes, I should be at least matching their pace. Not to mention, their overtaking maneuvers should be more realistic.
    – I’m not a big fan of the feeder series idea, but the idea of pre-season testing is very good. I don’t want to be doing a HRT every season.
    – They should definitely change the numbers after each season. I don’t care if drivers don’t move, but if and when I win the Championship, I want that number 1. Maybe choose the driver you replace in the team as well?
    – More advanced damage system. All that really happens, is my front wing coming off. Little bit poor really.
    – Better integrated “Live the life” system. This should include podiums, even if it’s from the driver’s perspective, a hell of a lot more varied press questions, with actual REAL consequences to your answers.
    – Data and statistics from previous seasons. So that I can check what happened at this particular circuit last season, where I came in quali and the race. What the fastest times were in practice, qualifying and the race and things like that.
    – As aforementioned, definitely need consistency in weather of sessions. I don’t want heavy rain in Q1, and then a completely dry track in Q2. It’s not realistic.
    – Possible commercial backing from sponsors? Even if they’re made up. So a team’s decision to hire you could also be based on money reasons, and your money could help quicker development through a season. Worth a thought anyway. It doesn’t necessarily have to appear on the car livery, but could be on the custom helmet.
    – Better data on the computer screen during a race weekend. I want to be able to see my lap compared to other driver’s, in braking zones and what not so that I can see where I’m losing and gaining time over a single lap. As well as being able to see everyone’s sector 3 times on the screen too :P. Also, being able to analyse tyre wear. Especially in this particular forthcoming season.
    – Being able to compare and copy setups from your team mate.
    – A MUCH more advanced race engineer. Even to the point that it’s possible to request certain information. The race engineer on 2010 was just too basic. It never really helped me.

I think that’s all for now anyway. F1 2010 is a great game in my opinion. But with these changes, it could become an all time classic.

As for safety cars and the like, i don’t really mind. Mainly because as nice as it would be, if it wasn’t done accurately, i’m sure it would become a major nuisance and possibly a bit of a bore.
