So what are you saying bradley? Are you crediting any 10 second penalties and hence rearranging the finishing order?

@abbmacher – I am very sorry as I realise this affects you the worse, but Im sure at some point in the season it will level out, I hope so anyway, if it doesnt, im incredibly sorry.

  • Profile picture of George George said 1 year, 5 months ago:

I am not following the reasons for this. The game give penalties after repeat corner cutting, (Admittedly it is a bit too strict)
But if you are just going to ignore all penalties, who will be making sure people are not really cutting corners to gain an unfair advantage, even on multiple laps and corners.
It is true the game could do with tweaking with regards to the penalties, but I have played it since it was released and it is perfectly playable as it is as long as the players respect the sensitivity to cornering.
The only way the results (good and bad) can average out is to play the game the way it was designed, Who will police every lap of every car?
I drove a fair race with no penalties and I have now been overtaken by people with multiple offences driving under the same rules and software.
Sorry I just cant see the reasoning or justification behind this decision.
    regards
    Abbmacher..

I trust everyone here not to cheat on purpose, if you do it too much, the game does disqualify you.

    my video

brad if ur gonna take out penalties, my teammate finished 3rd

In game penalties should stand!! Otherwise this is going to be a farce!! I got 2 or 3 in the first lap – due to being pushed off or nudged across a corner! U don’t see me complaining about it!

JamieF – yes I was hard on u with my move, but at the end of sector 1 on the first or second lap u rejoined the track and slammed into me, spinning me off!

Bradley – I was being patient, but as soon as you pushed me onto the grass on the main straight when I was beside u as we crossed the start/finish line, my patience was gone!

If people want to race me fair, ill respect their lines and track position! If not u can expect flying carbon!

Rules need to be stricter and penalties need to stand in order for this championship to be fair. Just look at quali- some people had sect 1 and 2 times 2-4 seconds off the pace of p4 onwards, then somehow their sector 3 time put them ahead! Its a joke! No wonder in the race there was mayhem as some drivers were way out of position!

Rant over – let’s try to make the next race fair. I suggest trying a race with realistic level of penalties and rules – it may iron out the problems!

so whats the deal with this championship? are all the 16 (?) slots taken? is it for ps3?

  • Profile picture of JamieFranklinF1 JamieFranklinF1 said 1 year, 5 months ago:

I never touched anyone on the first lap Brooksy, especially not at the end of sector 1. I was racing behind Moussa at the time, and trying not to find a way passed him, so how could I have hit you? And if you know that your move was too aggressive, then you should have then let me passed again, as I believe those are the rules.

As for your suggestion in quali. The times would have been disqualified if they were cheating in sector 3, so how do you think they got passed this rule?

And why should these penalties stand? A lot, if not most have explained where we got these penalties, and they were due to stupid incidents that didn’t warrant it. As Bradley said, people will be disqualified for repeat offences, plus I don’t think any of us here would willingly cut a little bit of a corner out each lap (with the hopes of not getting seen) just to save a few tenths. It’s ludicrous.

  • Profile picture of George George said 1 year, 5 months ago:

I Agree with you Brooksy, the only way to be consistent is to let the PS3 do the policing.

As for (all the penalties being explained) LOL have you ever watched a real GP, even a pro driver can explain away a driving error or infringement and be totaly innocent in his head.

The system gives enough warnings and if drivers don’t head them then its only them to blame.

As the results stood, the top 3 drivers were all penalty free, does that not sound like justice? Admittedly I am arguing for my 3rd place, but i still feel the same for all future races and will stand by and take my penalties when issued

JamieF – I did say the 1st or second lap (could even be the 3rd) a mclaren that was not bradley rejoined the track after an off between t3 and t5 (depending how u count them), ploughing me off the track while I was taking a normal racing line. Now why didn’t that driver pull over and let me pass??

In regards to quali – I was watching the timing screen. Can u explain how a driver can be down 2-4 seconds after sector 2 and somehow regain that time and more? It baffled me! The only conclusion I came to was corner cutting or exceeding track limits!

Is this season going to won by the best or most consistent driver, or the driver that knows where he can exceed the track limits and how far he can push the limits without getting dsq!!!

If u can’t keep it between the white lines play gt5!!

@moussa, congrats on winning the Australia GP! How did you record the video of your race?

  • Profile picture of JamieFranklinF1 JamieFranklinF1 said 1 year, 5 months ago:

If you’re talking about the second lap, then I have already explained that. I really wish you could see what happened from my point of view, because it would bring a lot more clarity. I was behind Moussa at the time and as I was turning in, Ed hit me from behind, pushing my sideways. At the time I didn’t realise what sort of position I was in and continued racing, but from my perspective, despite being crowded by cars, I hadn’t hit anyone, and surely if I had, then to send them off I would have at least seen them on my screen somewhere. However, all I saw was Ed’s car continuing on to the right of me as I was going tight into turn 4 and trying not to hit him. So I honestly have no idea at what time during that ridiculous and unnecessary fiasco that I ‘ploughed’ into you.

As for the rest, I guess I just have faith in people to be doing the right thing. None of us are pros, to my knowledge, and we will all make mistakes, and if people are cheating somehow then I find that sad, because it’s not necessary. However, these offences won’t go unnoticed and surely if it’s repeated then we’ll know something’s up.

@BROOKSY007 – On mine, you were never alongside me on the main, hence why i didnt mention it. If I’d have known you were there, or you’d actually been there on my screen, I would have said and apologised.

@sato113 – We still have spaces available, and would be happy to take you. This championship is indeed for PS3, as states in the title thread (just a little clue for people ya know ;) aha). Please check the wiki page (http://f1fanatic.wikia.com/wiki/2011/2012_F1F_Formula_One_PS3_Winter_World_Championship) for which seats are taken and which arent upon selcting your team.

@All – With regards to the removal of penalties, we will take a vote. Please answer JUST yes or no to the following question. I DO NOT want reasons trying to persuade others, nor do i want people going ‘if i dont get my way I’m leaving’ or words to that effect because quite frankly it’s childish and I won’t accept it.

I would also like a vote on AI please guys.
