What r the rules to who chooses what car and which teammate?

I always thought that the car choices were based on driver position at end of last season and then they organise who will be their 2nd driver (teammate).

So first place gets first pick and then fills in the 2nd driver spot with a driver they get along with or have an agreement.

I know it is complicated carrying over from JT’s system. For instance I knew that robocat really wanted redbull so I chose mclaren as I felt that he chose first and that’s fair.

Team mate selection has got to be mutual as setups are shared and u have got to organise practices at convenient times etc. Time zones and all!

And no drivers shouldn’t choose team mates, surely the team should get the best drivers they can which should be down to the previous championship positions and the choices made by the drivers in order of finishing positions, those left over can fight amongst themselves/first come first served basis surely!

No wonder there is a scrabble for the McLaren seat, it is the fastest car when all cars are set to ‘Equal’!

Right, due to large number of responses I have decided that the teams will be as they are realistically.
I agree with @Asanator, drivers shouldn’t choose their teammates and so as i have said beofre although it may not have been clear, drivers will choose their cars in the order they finished last years championship. Therefore @ed24f1 picks first, jt19 would pick second but he’s not racing and so last years 3rd place driver, @colinf, gets second choice and so on until we reach the new entries, who will get to chose their cars in the order of which they have signed up for the championship, is that clearer? :)

I will put entry list and calendar and stuff up tomorrow guys :)

Glad to hear about the teams. Don’t see the point in running teams of four, with top two scoring, far too confusing, and also means that the 3rd and 4th drivers are pointless.

So I’m a little confused – can we organise teammate pairings with other drivers or not! Isn’t it better to have a teammate u get along with!!

i can comfirm that all cars are equal in terms of Grip and Power, however due to cars having differing dimensions they have cetain handling characteristics. There were rumors that the Renault and Toro Rosso had up to a second a lap less pace but these are still rumors. Another rumor was that the Virgin had more grip but the Ferrari has less power. Basically to get the most out of your car you need a percific set up for it. One set up does not suit all. This is also the same for time trial

If it turn’s out I’m eventually not with Red Bull then I can’t deny I won;t be too happy. I’ve put a lot of practice and preperation with the Red Bull for next season. With setups for each track etc.

However I doubt it would be the end of the world for me. I think I finished 10th; with JT gone that put’s me 9th on the picking order. Whatever car I’m eventually with I will be happy with.
