@bradley13 well, Brooksy is Bernie, and you’re running this thing ;) haha just kidding mate, you’re doing a good job (unlike Max). looking forward to working with you! you’re a mature driver, which is more important than ever now we have to co-ordinate pit stops and the like. I’ve got setups for most circuits I am happy to share with you :)

Q: Luke, how do you feel about moving teams like this?
LS: I’m happy with how things have turned out. I’m not hell bent on making sure I have the best possible teammate, and I get on very well with Brooksy. He was set on making this happen with Moussa, so I saw no reason to stand in his way.
Q: Now you work with Bradley Downton. Opinion?
LS: Bradley’s a good guy, and I’ve had a couple of good battles with him. I’m sure we’re gonna work really well together!
Q: An all British team in McLaren. De ja vu?
LS: Quite! Britain has a rich heritage in motorsport, so for us to be driving for the most successful British team is an honour.
Q: Finally, what do you expect this season?
LS: A podium would be nice, but I want to enjoy my driving.

Bradley, is the test race and the first race both @ melbourne?

Q: So Andrew, a new season is upon us, what are your thoughts?

A: I’m excited, I can’t wait to get in the new car and put it through it’s paces, to get a feel for where we are against the other teams. With Ed coming into the team, expectations are high, I am confident we can compete for the championship.

Q: You mention Ed your new team mate and of course the current champion, are you worried about how you will compare?

A: Not worried, no, I think we showed last year that we had the speed, we took the win in Valencia and would have won in Bahrain as well without the car failure so, pace wise I think it will be interesting.

Q: And how are you getting on?

A: We are OK, we are both itching to get in the car, I wouldn’t say we are the closest team mates in the pit lane, but there is mutual respect and we are working well together to push the team in the right direction, we both want the same things from the car and that is a good thing. Of course when you get on track it is a different story, he is another driver I want to beat but the whole field is strong this year, ok there are a few drivers we don’t know yet but I expect it to be a very competitive year.

Q: So where do you think you’ll end up, when it all shakes out at the season finale?

A: It is a long way off!..*smiles* World champion of course!!

I’d like to propose some rules to ensure the smooth running of this series:

    - Races can only be moved to a different date or time if everyone agrees. If the host cannot make it or is not online at the race time, then a substitute will host the race and it will go ahead as usual. No individual is bigger than the series.

    - Race incidents should be voted upon by all drivers (not those involved in the incident). This includes revoking in-game penalties, crash penalties and other misdemeanours (such as using excessive run-offs). It is a much fairer system than leaving all decision making to one person.

    - If more than one person drops out in the first 5 minutes of qualifying, the session is restarted. If the host is having connection problems or if there is significant lag, a new host can be tried for the restart. This can only happen once per race.

    - If you complete 90% of the race distance, even with a DNF, you get points. If not, you don’t.

    - If there is a mass disconnection (as in everyone is disconnected) before 75% distance, the race can be restarted as though there was a red flag. So we start another race in a new lobby, and on Lap 1, we all get ourselves into the race order at the red flag point, with the leader acting as the Safety Car – so going at a slow pace. Then, on Lap 2, we continue racing. If not, for example if people can’t make it, half points are awarded if less than 75% has been completed, as in real F1.

    Thoughts?

@ayrtonsenna01 – Ok, i’ll let you off ;) and cheers :), means a lot to be told im doing a good job :P. We’re going to Dominate this season :D… the back row of the grid ;) pahaha.
@BROOKSY007 – Yep, both races are at Melbourne, hence the Australian Flag next to the ‘Pre-Season Test’ bit :).
@ed24f1 – With regards to all your rules:
Rule 1: Agreed that no-one is bigger than the series, but last year I knew that if I didn’t turn up, no-one would race. But I have, as your have suggested, adopted Maggfrey’s idea of not moving the date unless everyone agrees.

Rule 2: I agree, and this is what i wanted last year, but either no-one responded or no-one responded in time, and thus I just took the initive to make the decisions. I would prefer it if there was an annonymous vote on these decisions but it’s only if people are willing to comment. With regards to in-game penalties, i still stand by that all of these should be reversed, as the majority of them are stupid, unless the driver who has picked up the penalty admits they have done wrong, in which case it stands.

Rule 3: Fair enough, but one adapation, in a grid of 13, if you have 2 drop-outs, restarting is unfair on the 11 still going and so what i propose is instead, if more than a third of the field drop out we restart.

Rule 4: I was going to say this but then people who trundle at the back have an excuse just to crash out after 90%, and i don’t want this :/.

Rule 5: Same here as Rule 3, i will class a restart worthy disconnection as a third of the field. Your idea of restarting a new race and getting into a new order is very unlikely to work because even though i believe everyone here can be sensible, someone won’t and we will end about half minute behind them. I think if there is such a disconnection, if will just be classed as a red/chequered flag scenario.

    1. I don’t agree with your assertion that people wouldn’t race if you weren’t there, but let’s not go back to that. :)

    2. We have to do it on the forums I think as otherwise you don’t know if people are using multiple accounts or impersonating others or whatever. How about someone like @JT19 could be some form of steward to accumulate votes (public or private) and make a final decision if necessary? I think everyone here trusts his judgement, and it would mean he can stay involved in the series even though he unfortunately can’t compete.

    3. Maybe it is unfair to the 11 that are still in, but it will probably balance out over the season.

    4. If people are crashing out on purpose, we can deal with that then, I don’t think it’s a big problem to be honest. Anyway, I thought we were having damage off, so it wouldn’t be a problem?

    5. If anyone does that, they can just be disqualified and maybe given a multiple race ban. I think that a restart scenario can work, I’ve done it before elsewhere, but it depends if others agree.

I’m with ed’s view on these rules, especially with NOT overturning in game penalties. Yes, sometimes they r dumb, but everyone has to deal with them, making it fair on all. I don’t think it is fair to change the finishing positions based on someone complaining about receiving an in-game penalty, its open to all sorts of interests and always unfair on someone and always controversial!!!
The only rule that need re-enforcing is if u hit someone, pull over and give the spot back!! No matter how many places u lose!!

  • Profile picture of Asanator Asanator said 1 year, 4 months ago:

    @brooksy – Agreed

  • Profile picture of Bradley Downton Bradley Downton said 1 year, 4 months ago:

    1. Agreed.. :L
    2. Agreed again, private votes to @JT19, but will he be on here enough to check votes and stuff?
    3. I disagree, last season the majority of us people that live in the UK had no problems. I stick by what I said about a third of the field.
    4. Good Point, with damage off, no-one will be able to crash, didnt think about that did I? :L
    5. I’d like to hope I can trust everyone, so we will go with this, but again, I will class a worthy disconnection as a third of the field.

Finally, hope you all have a good Christmas :)

@bradley13 I shall have to sadly withdrawl from the championship as I have too many commitments in terms of schooling, I would like to participate but these come before F1 :(

Hi Bradders, can we please have a confirmation of the rules (i.e. race distance, damage, simulation settings etc.) as there isn’t really anything on this thread or the wiki page.

Cheers mate. Looking forward to Sunday!
