The first racing game I had was “Super Monaco GP” on the Sega Mega Drive.

I still remember some of the unofficial names used for the teams and drivers, for example Madonna (McLaren), Firenze (Ferrari) and Minarae (Minardi).
I always used to run the flagman over when he waved the chequered flag, he would fly away into the distance which always amused me, being a young child at the time. Would still amuse me now I expect! I need to find my Mega Drive now…

My first racing game was Formula 1 ’99 on the PS1. I played it quite a lot, though I wasn’t great at it. I got F1 2000 after that and 2001, both for the PS1 again. I also had Toca Touring Cars, which was hilarious, given that you can unlock a Tank and drive on a lava track.

    Didn’t get another F1 game until 2005, which then led to me getting F1 ’06, F1 Championship Edition, F1 2010, 2011 and 2012 :P

    Ahh, memories :)
