I love that. “We make an alright car, then copy everyone else.” No wonder they want unlimited testing back.

That was Ferrari’s problem this year – rather than being fresh and original with their car design, they elected to follow everyone else and they didn’t come good until the end of the season. They could have invented the F-duct, but instead they chose a Gratest Hits version of everyone’s 2009 cars. It was the most unoriginal car on the grid.

Also, shark fins that anchor to the rear wing are banned for 2011.

I thought Marca made only yellow journalism… probably it’s only F1 gossip, but that F11 is stunning.
F10 was designed with the purpose of being flexible – it had to be able to react fast to others’ developments – and it almost caught Red Bull (probably the best F1 car since F2004) in the end. But a Newey on the enemy lines prevents this strategy to work well, so i’d like to see a brave move by Ferrari and a radical design.

PM, I think the idea is it will “float” just above it, or maybe some kind of loophole where it only touches the rear wing when in motion, like a sort of flexi-shark-fin to circumvent the rules. If the drawing is accurate, expect this to be the first big technical argument of the year.
