Kobayashi’s podium at Suzuka was an amazing moment with which to end a relatively dull race. The chants of “Kamui” before he came out sent shivers down my spine.

Seeing the size of the crowds, on Friday, at Austin – or the Pirelli stetsons on the podium, modelled by the three outstanding drivers of 2012, with the presence of Mario Andretti the icing on the cake. Just moments that sum up the inspiration and excitement of a brilliant new Grand Prix for America.

Or the first 23 laps in Brazil – the most action-packed race I can remember, with all the title-battle tittle-tattle on top. The lap chart looks like a 2-year-old drew it…

Whole season. And if I have to pick: all the best rated races, Perez, Kamui and Schumi podiums, Lotus and Merc winning, fans watching Wimbledon at British GP, back to USA, 6 different winners in 6 races, tight battle between 6 drivers for the title up to the last 6 races, 6 world champions with 14 titles, 20 races, 8 diff winners, Kimi coming back in style, his radio… ****** awesome season !!!!!!! !!!!!!

Massa’s rise. He’s my favourite driver. You need someone to cheer for in races. That kind of excitement can spice up even the most boring race.

Rosberg’s first victory. He’s my second favourite.

Many racewinners. Diversity is important and makes things much more interesting.

For me the best moments were the beginning of the season with seven different winners out of seven races and Massa’s comeback throughout the year.

7 winners in the first 7 races was cool, Alonso won the 8th race so it’s a shame Perez couldn’t overtake him in Malaysia to have 8 winners in 8 races.

Rosberg winning for the first time was pretty good, as was Kimi’s comeback win, both likeable drivers so it was good to see them get some success.

Vettel putting rose-water on a blissfully unaware DC at the Abu Dhabi podium ceremony was one of the best light hearted comedy moments of the season!

The USGP was a success too, same again next year please!

    Schumacher’s podium in Valencia

    Alonso’s win in Valencia.

    Rosberg’s first win.

    Maldonado’s first win.

    Perez’s early success.

The last three races were the most exciting races of the year.

A bit biased here, but my vote for moment of the season was the podium at the 2012 European Grand Prix. Possibly one of the most dynamic races ever at a track which, apart from 2010(an airborne Australian comes to mind) yielded only insipid bores. But the highlight was the podium-my three favourite drivers, from my three favourite teams, three former Ferrari drivers on the podium, a home win for Alonso…for me these were scenes that I’ll never forget.
Another moment which comes close was also on the Eastern coast of Spain, but this time at Barcelona, when Alonso and Raikkonen, the veterans, hoisted the surprise winner Pastor Maldonado on their shoulders on the podium.

So many different drivers on the podium. Kobayashi’s for me was the best, the crowd shouting “Kamui” gave me goosebumps.

The best moments of 2012 in no particular order:
Maldonado wins Williams’ first race since 2004, and becomes a post-race fireman
Kobayashi’s podium in Japan was spine-tingling
Seven winners in first seven races provided unprecedented interest to the regular sports fan
Raikkonen’s team radio wisdom in Abu Dhabi and GPS requirement in Sao Paulo
European Grand Prix – best race of the season on what was previously the worst track known to mankind.
F1′s return to the USA – the COTA I think has a permanent place on the schedule for a long time to come.

I think the best moments for me are:
The start of the season with 6 Champions on it
F1 race on Austin: Yes back in America!!!
Vettel winning the championship in a super way, after the raes of Abu Dhabi and Brasil….

    The whole USGP weekend:
    - The monumental enthusiasm of both organisers and fans was a serious feelgood factor, there was not a sour note all 3 days. The setup was absolutely 1st class all the way.
    - A classic, straight fight between the two fastest drivers of the current generation in just about equally matched machinery, reminiscent of Hakkinen-Schumi, utterly crushing the rest of the field.
    - Clean, feisty battles all the way up and down the field with barely a shred of carbon fibre to be seen anywhere
    - Kept the championship alive to lay up the perfect showdown in brazil!
    (- and finally a HAM-VET-ALO podium)

The season has been so great it’s very difficult to pick out the best moments however these are my personal top 3.

    1. 7 winners in 7 races. By China I think nobody had any clue who was gonna win the next Grand Prix due to how unpredictable the season was to beginning to unfold. The vast amount of winners and podium finishers was a brilliant thing for the sport and I think it made a lot of casual viewers become a lot more interested.

    2. The old favourites doing well. Watching Williams and Sauber do so well, especially Kamuis podium, was just awesome to witness. I think everyone loves a good underdog triumph.

    3. The European Grand Prix. Possibly my favourite ever race simply because of Alonso’s stunning drive. I thought after qualifying ‘Vettel is gonna walk this’ and while for the majority of the race he did but the midfield actions along with Raikkonen, Schumacher and Alonso charging through was great. The best bit thought had to be Alonso stopping his car and celebrating the victory with the stewards and his fans. It must’ve been great to watch an be a part of such an emotional victory.

There were many more great moments but I just picked my personal ones. The racing throughout to season was brilliant though and even though it’s unlikely, I hope 2013 raises the bar even further.

    1) The unpredictability of the early part of the season
    2) Fernando Alonso’s drive
    3) Final race was bereft of a finale :)

7 different winners in 7 races – That was amazing. A feat never repeated in the past 61 championships. Quite a moment.
6 champions on a grid – Also a feat never repeated before. The 6 last champions were scattered in 5 different teams. All of the finished at least one time at podium. And all of them proved why they are champions.
The showdown in Interlagos – If a race could recap a whole season then what happened in Sao Paolo was just that. A legendary ending for a legendary season.
Podiums for Sauber, wins for Maldonado – Pay drivers? Not anymore. Kobayashi, Perez and Maldonado were supreme and was another reason this season was great.
The return to USA – What a return that was. From the qualifying battle till the cowboy hats in the podium, the GP in Austin was a big success. And in a track able to become a classic one.
Mercedes and Lotus first wins – Finally those teams were able to win. And the deserved. Especially Lotus.
Kimi’s comeback – The most talented F1 driver is back. He made it look easy. A win. A handful of podiums and lots of entertaining battles.
