    Hey everyone!

I know the 2017 provisional calendar won’t be released till the weekend of the Belgian, Italian, or Singapore Grand Prix this year, so I’d like to know what your versions of the 2017 calendar would look like. I have 2 versions –

This version has some dates reshuffled:
    1. Australia, 19 March
    2. Malaysia, 26 March
    3. Bahrain, 9 April
    4. China, 16 April
    5. Russia, 30 April
    6. Spain, 14 May
    7. Monaco. 28 May
    8. Canada, 11 June
    9. Austria, 25 June
    10. Britain, 9 July
    11. Germany, 23 July
    12. Hungary, 30 July
    13. Belgium, 27 August
    14. Italy, 10 September
    15. Singapore, 24 September
    16. Japan, 8 October
    17. Azerbaijan, 15 October
    18. United States, 29 October
    19. Mexico, 5 November
    20. Brazil, 19 November
    21. Abu Dhabi, 26 November

The above version has Malaysia shifted back to the beginning of the season as it has always been from 2001-2015. Azerbaijan is at the second half of the season, twinned after Japan, and Abu Dhabi forms a doubleheader after Brazil.

Version 2 (same as 2016 calendar):
    1. Australia, 26 March
    2. Bahrain, 9 April
    3. China, 23 April
    4. Russia, 7 May
    5. Spain, 21 May
    6. Monaco, 4 June
    7. Canada, 18 June
    8. Azerbaijan, 25 June
    9. Austria, 9 July
    10. Britain, 16 July
    11. Hungary, 30 July
    12. Germany, 6 August
    13. Belgium, 3 September
    14. Italy, 10 September
    15. Singapore, 24 September
    16. Malaysia, 8 October
    17. Japan, 15 October
    18. United States, 29 October
    19. Mexico, 5 November
    20. Brazil, 19 November
    21. Abu Dhabi, 3 December

    What do you think?

    Canada
    US New York
    US Austin
    Mexico
    Brazil
    Argentina
    Malaysia
    Japan
    Korea
    Singapore

Not necessarily in that order but pair races up in back to back weekends, means the schedule isn’t too long and there’s less flying backwards and forwards, but at the same time we get to go back to cool places like Istanbul, Portugal and Korea

A 28 round championship? There is 21 rounds at the moment and that is way too much. Germany won’t be on next year so that is 20. Italy could be dropped so that makes 19. I personally think Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Spain, Russia and Abu Dhabi should be dropped but that won’t happen. I would like to see a European Grand Prix which is rotated every year. Estoril, Imola, Magny Cours, Brands Hatch, Zandvoort would be among the options for me. Next years championship should start in Australia and finish in Brazil. Abu Dhabi is an awful way to finish a championship.

After some thinking and tinkering, here is my new 2017 calendar:

    2. Malaysian Grand Prix (Sepang International Circuit) – 19th March
    3. Australian Grand Prix (Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit) – 26th March

    5. Brazilian Grand Prix (Autódromo José Carlos Pace) – 16th April

    6. Russian Grand Prix (Sochi Autodrom) – 7th May

    9. Belgian Grand Prix (Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps) – 11th June

    10. British Grand Prix (Silverstone Circuit) – 2nd July

    11. French Grand Prix (Circuit de Dijon-Prenois) – 16th July

    15. Chinese Grand Prix (Shanghai International Circuit) – 1st October

    17. Mexican Grand Prix (Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez) – 29th October
    18. United States Grand Prix (Circuit of the Americas) – 5th November

I added Argentina and France to my earlier version to take the schedule up to 18 races (the absolute maximum IMO) and moved some Grand Prix around to give the calendar a bit of a refresh, I think beginning the season in South Africa rather than in Australia may be better because of the time zones, maybe boosting viewing figures. I also put in spaces between the races to represent the weeks where there is no F1.
