Whoever said Chinese courts were fair to begin with. They aren’t exactly known for being real big on the whole justice part. Most likely, this will either be settled behind the scenes and charges will get dropped or Sutil will just not go to China anymore as, from what I understand from some Chinese friends, once you are told to show up in court, you are effectively guilty and they are just trying to figure out who harsh of a sentence you will get. My guess on the delay is that FI was shielding Sutil from formal charges and since he isn’t with a team anymore, that shielding is gone.
Of course, if I am wrong about my assessment about the Chinese legal system, things have greatly changed in just a few years, but I doubt that.
