Ayrton Senna’s first racing car from his 1981 racing season will go on display at the Historic Sportscar Club stand at Autosport International in January.

Senna drove this Van Diemen RF81 Formula Ford 1600 car to two championship titles in 1981. He won the Townsend-Thoresen Championship with eight wins from thirteen races and the RAC Championship with four wins from six races.

Senna drove the car after moving to Europe as he made his graduation from karts to racing cars. The following year he won the British Formula Ford 2000 championship, clinched the British F3 title the year after that, and made his grand prix debut in 1984.
