Best corner of each track.

I’m sure we’ve had a topic which discusses the top 10 corners. But what’s the best corner of each track on the calender? My personal opinion:
Turn 11-12 fast left-right chicane, very underrated corner imo.
Turns 7-8, the double right apex.
Turn 6, the fast left corner where Hamilton overtook Vettel this year.
Turn 8, too bad we wont have it next year.
Campsa, nothing else is special on that circuit.
So many good corners, but I choose Loews harpin, unique!
The final “champions” chicane.
The penultimate corner, spectacular camera view!
A lot of good corners, but Maggots is the best imo.
Meh, Schumacher S.
Turn 4 is pretty awesome, blind and fast.
Blanchimont, though Eau Rouge and Pouhon are so close!
Parabolica, any question?
“The Singapore Sling” (turns 1-2)
130R, even though it’s been slightly revised.
The final corner.
Truns 2-3 are the only good corners on that track.
Turns 6 and 7, known as the Ferra Durra.
What do you think?2nd September 2011, 2:04 at 2:04 am #177461
As Zadak once said…
Not sure about your pick for Shanghai (a very underated track by the fans in my opinion) The corner leading onto the long straight is the best corner there, I think, full throttle acceleration around the banking, fantastic.2nd September 2011, 2:05 at 2:05 am #177462
Errm…. Singapore Sling is the fiddly Turn 10 chicane; and Turn 6 in Shanghai is the hairpin before the corner you’re talking about.
Funnily enough I actually quite like Turn 4
Tabac and the swimming pool :D
The first chicane; at Turns 3 and 4
The final right kink
In the new layout I’ll go for Abbey
Eau Rouge still does it for me
The Turn 11 and 12 chicane
Ooh…. hmmm…. Turn 2 all the way to Dengner 1 :D
The alternatingly on/off camber turns 11 and 12
The turn 15-16-17 complex
Mergulho2nd September 2011, 6:22 at 6:22 am #177463
The fast chicane
Turns 5&6 are fantastic
Turn 8, of course
Used to love the double right at the end of the lap, probably Campsa these days
Tabac and the entrance to the swimming pool
The last couple of corners
Turn 6, the blind, fast one at the top of the hill
Turn 7 chicane
The Run onto the main straight
So many good corners. I’d say either turn 1, Degner or 130R
Not a big fan of Yenogram, But Probably 17 and 18
The turn 15-16-17 complex
Turn 112nd September 2011, 7:35 at 7:35 am #177464
duncan- the blind Hungaroring corner is T4. T6 is the entry to the chicane. “Turn 7 chicane” in Monza is the Ascari chicane ;)
Also, by Turn 11 Interlagos do you mean Mergulho, or Juncao?2nd September 2011, 8:31 at 8:31 am #177465
Well, it depends on what you count as a corner, since they upgraded T1 it is counted as 2 corners and the slight right kink just before the blind corner is sometimes included as a corner. I mean Mergulho, It is fantastic2nd September 2011, 9:21 at 9:21 am #177466

Why do so many people like the hairpin at Shanghai? Or do you guys mean turn 7? The fast left hander where Lewis took Vettel this year?2nd September 2011, 10:18 at 10:18 am #177468
I’m not sure how you can confuse Turn 7 for the hairpin.2nd September 2011, 10:43 at 10:43 am #177469
Turn 6 is the hairpin and Turn 7 and 8 are the fast chicane at Shanghai. But a lot of people put Turn 6 as the favourite corner.2nd September 2011, 10:53 at 10:53 am #177470
Good idea for a thread Kingshark. I’d give an honourable mention to the Ascari Chicane at Monza, which is surely the best chicane in F1. It’s more of an S- bend, really2nd September 2011, 11:13 at 11:13 am #177471
I think Turn 8 is a much better corner, we’ve often seen a driver hang it on the outside to overtake into Turn 9.2nd September 2011, 13:58 at 1:58 pm #177472
Ned it’s the one example I can think of right now where a chicane can be fun. It’s actually probably my favourite bit of track in F1 atm.2nd September 2011, 15:31 at 3:31 pm #177473
Louis Chiron Chicane (Turns 13-14)
Turn 25 (Last corner)
