Kingshark, could not agree more, it raises the hair on the back of my neck. It sounds of pure violence hurling driver & car along the track at warp speed.
Tried to use it as my ring tone but the wife would’nt go out with me.

Personally I love the burnouts current F1 cars make, cuts right through you.

WRC engines sound aggressive as hell!

GT1 engines make for a nice reverberation around the chassis.

The Matra V12 is incredible, sounded awesome reverberating off the trees at Goodwood this year. The 787B is incredible as well, and the old Renault V10′s were charming.

The best sound in my opinion however comes from the old flat 12 Ferrari. Filming this was possibly the best and most exciting 5 minutes of my life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW35ttYoDbQ

Eugh that Flat-12 sounds bizarre! Not necessarily awful, but odd; although I suspect that is to do with the sound being too much for the mike on your camera!!

Yes I agree that the BMW V-10 sounds brilliant, I especially love the birds twittering when the car isn’t in earshot haha

I quite liked the sound of the current Mercedes Engine when I saw it (heard) live in the flesh

WRC engines are fantastic. I would love to have one.

Yeah the mic has distorted the sound slightly! My friend has some better footage but I haven’t managed to get hold of it yet.

The BMW Williams sounded awesome.

I always love the bit when they are waiting on the grid and drop the clutch. That is my favourite noise in motor sport.

Sitting 3 feet from the exhaust of a Ford GT’s 5.0 Liter Roush Racing engine with no ear plugs is a hell of a sound, but as I haven’t yet been to a F1 race I would have to say the GT2 Corvette is the best sounding car i’ve ever heard.
