They may boo non-British drivers who are rivals to Jenson and Lewis. But the same happens in Germany, Spain and Italy towards the Mclaren drivers (and I’d happily join in despite being British).
It’s not about being “zenophobic” or World War 2, it’s about pantomime level booing of what the audience sees as the Red or Red Bull “villain” to their Silver “hero”. The real fans still respect the “villain’s” driving ability.
