I was seriously worried about that. It looked worrying, but he moved soon after. Jenson nearly got hit by some flying debris at turn 1.

I think he was knocked out. After the initial impact he made no attempt to maneuver or slow down his car before he hit the red tire wall. His interview with Lee once he got back to the pits was telling, too — he sounded a bit loopy and couldn’t remember the details of the incident at all. And, if you listen closely, one of his handlers cut the interview short. My guess is that they realized he was a bit out of it.

I thought he was toast…. just massively p’d off I reckon. I think it’s much easier to accept a crash when you know you are in the wrong or when you see it coming but I really think it took him by suprise!

He didn’t really strike me as unresponsive at any point, more just accepting of his fate. Didn’t seem like a particularly aggressive crash.

For some reason I did think that he might have been knocked out but then nothing hit him. It was a high speed crash and that is always quite nervy.

i thought he was knocked out and was surprised when they said later that he wasn’t. as the car slid along the barrier, his hands were not on the steering wheel and with there being no attempt to brake before stopping in the tyre wall. add to that the lack of response when the marshal tried to see if he was ok, this led me to believe he wasn’t conscious.
