Gary Anderson has already produced an analysis of car race pace. It takes the race fastest laps only, which isn’t a perfect measure but averaged over an entire season is pretty reliable.

    Red Bull 100.613
    Sauber 100.952
    Ferrari 101.011
    McLaren 101.116
    Lotus 101.182
    Merc 101.312
    Williams 101.312
    Force India 101.327
    Toro Rosso 101.447
    Caterham 102.672
    Marussia 103.800
    HRT 104.461

On the qualifying front the order (by driver this time) is: HAM, VET, WEB, BUT, ALO, GRO, RAI, ROS, MAL, MSC, MAS, PER, HUL, DIR, KOB, DAM, SEN, RIC, VER, KOV, PET, GLO, PIC, DLR, KAR

Ferrari ahead of Mclaren? Mercedes ahead of Williams? I strongly disagree with him here.

@tom_ec1 @kingshark If you’re just relying on race fastest lap, it makes it too tied to tyre strategy (hence the high placing of Sauber). But it’s not too bad a list, actually.

Mercedes and Williams are actually tied, which reflects the streaky form both teams have shown this year – sometimes peerless, other times hopeless.
