    It was also all over for Alonso after Silverstone 2010, and the same thing at Spa that year. Also, let’s not forget that IMO the RB6 was more dominant than RB8.

    Anything can still happen. Keep faith people!

    Well ,after the first race being 1.5 secs off the lead times its just amazing that Fernando is in with a shout.
    I’m keeping my fingers crossed hoping he wins because if anyone deserves it its Fernando! Yeah sure the Ferrari is not the best car but they do have the best driver.

    Before today I would have said yes.

    However personally I think the championship is over for Fernando. It was a valiant effort by him this season but Ferrari have let him and their fans down. Constant non-fulfilled promises about upgrades that would make a difference but did little to the cars performance.

    Congrats to Vettel, not my favorite driver by far but credit given where credit is due. Worthy 3 time champ.

    If Vettel is moved to the back of the grid after stopping on circuit, I’d say YES! :P

    I really can’t believe that Alonso in addtion to being outqualified today by McLaren, Red Bull was also outqualified by a Williams and a Renault!

    They apparently made so many upgrades and he couldn’t eke out an advantage over 4 constructors… I’m sure that he will somehow push up the grid during the grid.

    @kingshark
    Whatever happened to Vettel’s car stopping? Do we know what caused that?

    @Dave
    We should wait the race before giving conclusions…let’s wait and see what’s going to happen tomorrow….see you tomorrow …:)

    Even if Vettel’s car was deemed to have stopped on the circuit due to acceptable circumstances, he still had to stop on the circuit… Red Bull’s reliability could bring Alonso right back into it. If not this race, then maybe next race, or at the final race if Alonso has held within 25 points by then.

    Worry not. I have hired a sniped to shoot a puncture in the Red Bull’s rear tyre for the American GP. Nothing is over yet! :P

    Alonso’s chances will be judged in the next hour (when Charlie Whiting gives the verdict).

    Vettel’s been officially sent back to the grid – I gotta say this is getting really interesting!

    Wow Fernano’s odds have jumped from 3.5-4 to 1.75-2.25! Essentially his chances have doubled compared to pre-qualifying.

    Excited by this. Vettel is great but until he wins from outside the top 4 or 5 there will always be doubts for me. He doesnt have a listen”legendary drive” to his name in spite of all his success…. his first win in monza is the closest and even that was from pole.

    I don’t think he’s ever won from lower than 3rd, actually. Even then, IIRC he was in 2nd going into turn 1.
