You cannot compare teammates earnings. Hulk started at 09, Diresta at 11, the contracts were written separately, same at Kovalainen vs Petrov. KOV has been there since 2010 PET did a last second save buying himself in Trullis place. Drivers dont have an exact salary, it depends on negotiations.
@matt90 the situation with Toro Rosso and Red Bull is slightly different. You cannot directly compare as such. They are paid a relatively small retainer (Vettel is paid especially small, considering he’s a 20+ GP winner and a double champion), but then they get bonus multipliers for points, podiums, and victories. There is another bonus on top for all the team if they win the WCC, and another for their driver if he wins the WDC
@matt90 Sorry not 09, 2010, he got pole in his rookie year in Brazil for Williams. Test driver for FI in 2011, and I think they have a new contract since this year. FI saved money as replacing Liuzzi with Diresta was cheap, so they could afford to give Hulk more money.
@marcus. Where are you getting the drivers salary figures from? I’ve noticed on another popular f1 new site articles discussing alonsos 40 million euro salary, felipes 20 million euro, and rossbergs 16 mill… are they liars over on that “f1planet”?
