If 15 euros a month is too much, you should probably check out their pay per view rates, or their online rates, even though both are TBC.

@Roald, the reason SBS6 couldn’t show advertisements during the races was because of a ruling Bernie made for European broadcasters, which stated the races could not be interrupted with commercials. While I can find some links stating SBS6 will not air commercials during the races, I’m having a hard time finding an article about Bernie’s ruling. http://forum.fok.nl/topic/409016

Edit: Damn, I can’t subscribe through Sport1 themselves, only through Telfort, so I can’t use the deal. On the plus side, I don’t pay 15, but 12,50 for some reason.

So has anyone had the chance to watch the practice sessions? I had a look for the last 30 minutes of FP2, looked great! I liked Van Dam a lot, especially compared to Mol. He was informative, got his historic facts right and provided some backgrounds for drivers. Not sure about the value of the ‘highlights’ channel though, surely watching live beats looking at the spins and offs from the session in slowmotion? Onboard channel was fantastic though, I can see myself watching that one often. Might record the onboards and watch the regular feed live!

What’s your verdict my fellow Dutch fans?

Haven’t watched it yet, but recorded it.

@mnmracer Didn’t know about that yet! Doubt I’ll use it very often because I think timing screens are distracting, but it’s worth having a look at tomorrow during qualifying.

All in all, I think we’re getting great value for those 105 euros!

So far, so good I’d say. I really liked Robert Doornbos last race as well, but I have to say van Dam has some Olav Mol moments, seeing Di Resta having his off just now a second later than the tv, as well as sometimes talking so softly that you can’t make out what he’s saying.

I can really tell the diference with German RTL in picture quality. Hd really makes a difference here. Glad I subscribed.

And, in a completely unexpected turn of events (sarcasm), people who have been complaining about Olav Mol for years, now want him back: http://www.f1today.net/nl/nieuws/bcolumnb-op-de-getrapte-neus-van-ronald-van-dam

Personally, I would prefer to watch the rest of the season to see how van Dam and his guests develop, but we wouldn’t be Dutch if we didn’t start complaining right after every change.

Exactly. To be honest, I’m fine with Van Dam. He’s not perfect, but neither was Mol.

Sport1 needs to get the support series onboard though, GP3, GP2, Formula Renault series… Perhaps Indycar as well. They have MotoGP rights and broadcast Moto2 and Moto3 as well, so get the slower open-wheel series to Sport1 as well!
