After a weekend at the BTCC and the end of season withdrawal, I’ve changed my avatar to one of my pictures from the weekend. I think I might find F1 a tad dull for a few weeks at least!

Mine is a picture of Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez, the legendary and nearly-forgotten Mexican racing drivers. Both went to achieve great success in different types of racing particularly endurance. Pedro won LeMans and Ricardo was second (he still is the youngest person to stand in the podium of the 24hrs of LeMans). They both also ran in Formula 1 with great results. Ricardo is still the youngest person to start a GrandPrix from first row (he qualified second for the 1962 Belgian GP, his first GP, when he was 18 years old) Both were champions on the making until they payed the highest price. Ricardo died practicing for the 1962 Mexican GP and Pedro in a Interserie sport car race in Norisring. Pedro was 31 and Ricardo 20 when they passed. So I have my avatar as a tribute to them and hopefully I can raise awareness about their often over-looked racing careers

After a year on the site, I’d thought I would change from Mark Webber to the beautiful Toyota’s from Le Mans.
