Wow, this is all sounding pretty discouraging… from all the developers kept talking about, it sounded like the handling would be more towards the sim end of things :/

Now I’m starting to wonder if I should really get this game.

    I’ve got the game.

And to blow all the doubters away – I love it.

I’m a console player, xbox 360 with a pad. Playing on custom difficulty – with the ai set to legend and some of the assists turned off, but some of them on, like TC set to medium. Also got automatic gears.

Its hard! I’m setting lap times that are fairly average, and slowly trying to get into the groove of Bahrain. I hate the circuit though, its terrible (not codies fault of course!). Looking forward to the european season already!

The attention to detail is great and the level of grip is spot on. Really loving how it dynamically changes through the weekend and depending on tyres.

I haven’t tried online yet, but I will tonight. If anyone on the xbox fancies adding me to join my session or what not, please do! I race clean but i’m distinctly average :D. (i.e. i can probably match the AI at the hardest levels but i’m never going to be as good as the most hardcore racer). GT: RumblyLizard

I’ll update more as I play!

I drive with all the aids off – although I do have automatic gears because the controls are so bad I can’t find a comfortable place to have the gear change buttons. I also have to have the AI set to Intermediate because alth I can’t drive consistantly enough to make the Legend setting worth bothering with.

The problem with not being able to correct slides is that the controls lag – there’s a small but noticable difference between the time you take the throttle off and the car actually responding, which makes it virtually impossible to come out of a slow corner full throttle, because theres no hope of correcting any oversteer.

Heh, I’ve already seen one guy claim the game is in no way an accurate driving simulation and that he will be trying to get a refund on it … after driving all of three laps.

It’s a computer game. Oh course it’s not a driving simulation it’s a commercial release.

    Some people are so ridiculous.
