Alright, it’s been a day and nobody has had any real attempt at it, so here’s the answer:

    1) Who was he?
Ian Scheckter, older brother to Jody Scheckter

    2) Who was he racing for at the time?
March Engineering, running under the name Hollywood March Racing, and later as Team Rothmans International

    3) What was the best result of his career?
10th place at the 1977 Dutch Grand Prix

    4) Which race was he banned from competing in, and where was it held?
The 1977 Japanese Grand Prix, at the old Fuji Speedway

    5) Why was he banned?
The Japanese were opposed to Aparthied, and the elder Scheckter only held a tourist visa when he arrived in Tokyo

    6) Who would have been his team-mate for that race?
Brazilian driver Alex Riberio (this was probably the hardest question)

    7) Was his relative allowed to compete, and if so, where did his relative finish in the race?
Yes – Jody was allowed entry to Japan; he finished 10th for Walter Wolf Racing, and set the fastest lap in the process

    8) Who ultiamtely won that race? (the answer may be the same as question seven)
James Hunt won the race by over a minute from Carlos Reutmann’s Ferrari

Sone everybody only got bits and pieces of the answer, I can’t really settle on a winner. So, in the interests of keeping the thread going, I’ll pose another question:

Who is Kenneth Noye, and what is his connection to Formula 1?

Tough one. Mr Kenneth Noye is most known in Britain I think… Quite a figure, one of the Britain’s most ruthless criminals. In his colourful life he was believed to have something in common with Nick Whiting and his death. And Nick Whiting could be Charlie Writing’s brother?

“It wasn’t just the boss of All Car Equipe in Wrotham, Kent, who vanished on Friday, June 8, 1990 – it was also five of his prized cars, worth a total of over £100,000. The cars were all recovered within a matter of days, but of Nick Whiting, the company’s millionaire boss, there was no sign.” source: Truecrimelibrary.

Indeed – Charlie Whiting’s brother Nick, a car saelsman, was murdered by Kenneth Noye in 1990.

Is someone posting the next question?

I Believe that its nemoqueverto to ask the question now.

Also on Kenneth Noye, He lived in my village where he stabbed (and killed) a Police Officer John Fordham who was investigating him (in his home) for the Brinks-mat robbery. The F1 theme doesnt apply, except that Brands Hatch is also situated in my village and its where Tom Pryce lived whilst learning his trade as a racecar driver.

    I’ll take over.

This might be asy, but I’m not sure.

Who has had more Q2 appearances in their career: Adrian Sutil or Heikki Kovalainen?

  • Profile picture of Kingshark Kingshark said 1 year, 7 months ago:

    I’m guessing Kovelainen?

  • Profile picture of daykind daykind said 1 year, 7 months ago:

    Yes, it is Heikki, just.

    My turn!

Who has scored the most points in F1 without winning a single race? (The answer might be a bit of a surprise)

  • Profile picture of daykind daykind said 1 year, 7 months ago:

I’m gonna go with Nico Rosberg, what with the new points system.

  • Profile picture of Prisoner Monkeys Prisoner Monkeys said 1 year, 7 months ago:

It’s Nico Rosberg – but the new points system doesn’t have that much of an effect.

  • Profile picture of daykind daykind said 1 year, 7 months ago:

I wasn’t sure, but I would have thought the system had had some effect, with him getting over 140 points last year.

  • Profile picture of Prisoner Monkeys Prisoner Monkeys said 1 year, 7 months ago:

Rosberg is first, with 279.5 points without a win.

Nick Heidfeld is second, with 259.

    The difference is 20.5 points.

Rosberg has scored 204 points under the new system.

    Heidfeld has scored 40.

So, Rosberg would still be ahead, even under the old system. Therefore, the new system has not produced the dramatic effect you might think it would.

    Thanks, here’s the next one.

Who was Timo Glock angry at for blocking his lap in Q1 at Monza last year?
