    What feat in F1 did Jim Clark manage to do on three occasions that no other driver accomplished once? Hint is it relates to a specific GP circuit.

    @toro-steve might need a clue

  • Profile picture of Toro Stevo Toro Stevo said 5 months ago:

    Woops, forgot about this.

    Simple thing would be to look up circuits that have only been used for championship F1 events three times. Other drivers like Brabham managed the same feat, but in non-championship events.

    3 wins in Prince George circuit?

  • Profile picture of Toro Stevo Toro Stevo said 5 months ago:

    Not quite (Graham Hill won in ’62), but for peat’s sake I want rid of it. 3 pole positions there in championship F1 events. Nobody else managed one, although Brabham got one in 1966 in a non-champ event (Clark managed it in 1961 in a non-champ event as well).
    @sigman1998 – your turn.

    Who was the first driver to wear a full face helmet, when and where did he finish?

  • Profile picture of IrishF1 IrishF1 said 5 months ago:

    That would be Dan Gurney in Germany 1968. He finished 9th.

    Michael Schumacher has achieved something twice that 13 other drivers achieved only once, most recent of whom is Vettel this year. What achievement is it?

    4 wins in a row?

  • Profile picture of IrishF1 IrishF1 said 5 months ago:

    @andae23 No. Hint: All of the other 13 drivers are world champions and it has to do with the years in which they won one of their championships.

  • Profile picture of andae23 andae23 said 5 months ago:

    @anto Maybe another hint?

  • Profile picture of IrishF1 IrishF1 said 5 months ago:

    Alright. Here are the other 14 (sorry not 13!) world champions and the years in which they won the title:
    Juan Manuel Fangio: 1951, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957
    Alberto Ascari: 1952, 1953
    Jack Brabham: 1959, 1960, 1966
    Graham Hill: 1962, 1968
    John Surtees: 1964
    Emerson Fittipaldi: 1972, 1974
    Niki Lauda: 1975, 1977, 1984
    James Hunt: 1976
    Alan Jones: 1980
    Ayrton Senna: 1988, 1990, 1991
    Nigel Mansell: 1992
    Damon Hill: 1996
    Lewis Hamilton: 2008
    Sebastian Vettel: 2010, 2011, 2012

    As I said before Vettel achieved this for the first time this year 2012, Hamilton achieved it in 2008, Damon Hill in 1996 and so on. What do the years 2012, 2008 and 1996 have in common?

    Is it that they have all won the title in a leap year, and schumi has done so twice?

  • Profile picture of IrishF1 IrishF1 said 5 months ago:

    @mathers Correct!
