    Unsurprisingly incorrect!

Is it Williams? Just spent ages looking through wiki etc to try find some links between them and this was the only one I could find that was close to F1 :P

  • Profile picture of paulgilb paulgilb said 2 months ago:

    Nope!

Let’s bump this with a hint: it involves one particular ex-F1 driver.

  • Profile picture of paulgilb paulgilb said 1 month, 1 week ago:

Another hint: this driver only competed in 1 season in the 1980s.

John Crichton-Stuart (7th Marquess of Bute) – descendant of 18th century prime minister (John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute) On his father’s side, he is a direct male-line descendant of King Robert II of Scotland and from his mother’s side, he is descended from King Charles II of England and Scotland. Could not find the link to the 14th Century nationalist.

Correct! The 14th Century nationalist was Robert The Bruce, and the other king of England was William IV.

OK maybe a slightly easier one :)

Who is the driver who made up the most places from the start (throughout the entire race) to win?

  • Profile picture of the_sigman the_sigman said 1 month, 1 week ago:

Watson, Long Beach (1983?), from 22nd. Lauda (2nd) started in 23rd

  • Profile picture of synapseza synapseza said 1 month, 1 week ago:

Yes, that’s it. Long Beach 1983.

Ferrari has raced almost every GP in red colour. Which GP(s) has it raced with anoher colour? Also, tell me what colour the cars had and why.

They raced the 1961 I think USA GP under another name in protest at something or another, I think they were white and dark blue.

I suspect that there are others – I have a sneaking suspicion that there was once a yellow one somewhere?

  • Profile picture of synapseza synapseza said 1 month, 1 week ago:

There was indeed a yellow Ferrari in the 1961 Belgium GP. It was driven by a Belgium driver – Gendebien. I am not 100% sure if it is the reason, but yellow is (was?) the racing colour assigned to Belgium.
