    My Circuit: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5826883
The Main Straight is the straight with the number 1 on it, definitely more than 700m!
The circuit is run clockwise and is based in South Africa just south of Johannesburg.
    Its length is 6.2km

Ok, Since I see the entries dried up I am going to announce a winner.
In third place we have @kingshark
In second place we have @brickles
But the winner of this round is @prisoner-monkeys
His circuit has a good flow and some very good overtaking spots but also some challenging corners. Plus, its location is sublime.
    Congratulations

Okay, your next mission, should you choose to accept it is to build a circuit for the New Zealand Grand Prix, which you are going to create from scratch.

First of all, go to New Zealand in the GMaps Pedometer.

You will need to find a large, empty space within two hundred kilometres of Auckland International Airport. It should be somewhere near a major road (which are in orange), or at least have easy access to one. “Easy access” is defined as being within fifteen kilometres of a major road.

Using the manual plotting tool, draw a circuit that is between 3.5km and 7.5km long. However, the closer you can get to 5.5km (which is about the average these days), the better it will be for your final mark.

Now, you may not destroy anything. At all. Not even the minor council roads that only get used by a handful of residents (you may destroy dirt roads and paddock fences if you need to; assume you have purchased this land for the purposes of building a circuit). Nor can you use any part of any existing road in your circuit.

Your circuit should contain between twelve and eighteen corners (a corner being defined as any constant change in direction; sometimes it can be a little tricky to get perfectly-straight lines).

Finally, no straight on your circuit should be more than a kilometre long.

When you are done, save your circuit under the “terrain” profile and post it here. You will also need to make a second submission that shows the distance from your circuit to the airport. Do not use the elevation profile (under the options for mile markers and calorie counters).

I am looking for a circuit that is challenging and unique, but also realistic.

Since this circuit is entirely free-style with no usage of existing roads included, I’m going to make a few sketches on my white-board first.

I made mine in Awhitu Central, only a few kilometers from a main road, and on top of that, a mere 18.36 km from the airport bird-flight.

New Docks will be built along the back straight for access from Freeman Bay, and Stanley Bay on either side of the harbor, with a capacity crowd of 90,000 fans.

    Distance to Airport: 21.2276km

    **CORRECTION**
My Pit Straight is the longest straight on the circuit
The current one is only 250m long, and a regular 24 car grid is 170m

FFR, my circuit runs clockwise, and the pit straight is the second longest straight.

Turn on the mile marker, and the bullet dot is the start/finish line.
Sector 1 ends on the first mile mark, and sector two on the second mile mark.

Okay, I’m going to bump this to see if there’s any more interest going. So far, we’ve only got about three or four entires, and I’m wondering if there aren’t any more out there. So I’ll give you about twenty-four hours to get your submissions in, and see what things look like then.
