    Delfzijl, The Netherlands: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5841036

    Close to the growing industrial area Eemshaven (their maps are very old, despite Google having an office there) and half an hour away from the 8th largest city in the Netherlands, the Delfzijl Circuit is meant to breathe some life into an area faced with an aging population and loss of jobs.

    I like the enrties from @geemac and @tmekt both look pretty old school and challenging, but fun to drive. But my winner is @npf1 whose track looks scary fast in some areas, technical in others in used the harbours area to full effect.

    Congrats

    Thanks! I really liked the way it came out, it took me a few re-designs, but it I’m glad you liked it.

    For the next challenge, I’m going with a not-so-current theme. We’ve heard about the Nürburgring’s financial difficulties and that Hockenheim might not have been prepared to host the German GP annualy again. Your challenge is this: find a track in Germany and (re)design it, so it can take the Nürburgring’s place on the 2015 calendar. The rules are simple;
    - It can’t be the Hockenheimring or any configuration of the Nürburgring.
    - It can be either a redesign of a track, or a completely new (street)circuit.
    - The track has to be between 4.5 and 7.5 kilometers long.
    - Trackside buildings and minor public roads may be demolished, houses and major roads may not be demolished.

    For convenience, here’s a list of tracks in Germany: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Motorsport_venues_in_Germany Again, you are also allowed to design a completely new track, but at your own peril. A good new track will be higher rated than a bad redesign, just as a good redesign will be rated better than a bad new track.

    @npf1
    if we make a new circuit, does it have to be a street circuit?

    Dylan, it doesn’t have to be, a new track can also be purpose built.

    Edit: Entries will close Saturday at 12:00 CET, 11:00 GMT.
