It’s finally happening: the French GP is returning in 2014! For inspiration, the track designers have been looking at other F1 venues to investigate what makes a track good. Now, because these designers haven’t got a lot of imagination, they have decided to just copy the Monaco GP, but in France. Therefore your task will be: design an F1 street circuit in a city/village along the French mediterranean coast – basically, the more it ‘looks’ like Monaco the better, though designing a good circuit is your top priority. Rules are as follows:
- track must be between 3.5 and 7 kilometres long.
- new roads may be built as long as no buildings are destroyed, same rule as always, but try to stick to the existing roads as much as possible.
Some notes: you don’t have to show where you want to put the pitlane. Also, some roads are very narrow: check street view to make sure it’s wide enough for an F1 track. The closer you can build to the sea/harbour, the better. Finally, note that Corsica’s also part of the French mediterranean coast.
