Here’s my entry for the time being:

I’m assuming there are no rules against road widths and having to make modifications to existing infrastructure.

Here is my effort. It is in Minsk Mazowiecki which, before you ask, is not to be confused with the capital city of Belarus! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi%C5%84sk_Mazowiecki

For our purposes you should imagine that the track carries on straight through any roundabouts.

I’ve gone for the birthday of a particular racing driver. Guess who? ;)

The track itself is quite technical, has a few awkward corners and some difficult braking zones.

I built my track in Tarnow.

    http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5780897

    6.5 km (4 miles)
    15 turns ( 5 Left and 10 Right)

It looks like half Sochi and half Kyalami.

I chose to design a track at Krakow.

    track krakow

It’s a long track (6.96 km), with some long straights. Tried to make it go around the city center (or what at least looks like it).

    Here’s mine, in Poddebice.

    It’s 5.6388 km long.

    Start/Finish Line: Bullet.
    Sector 1: Dot #1
    Sector 2: Dot #2

Here is mine, I decided to use Poznan, and it looks to be a nice street circuit, more Monaco style than Canada:

    I wonder who’s won.

Sorry guys, I know its late already in some places.

Looking back now, I gave you guys a really tough country. There aren’t many good places to host a race here at all lol.

That being said, I had to go with the one that I thought would promote close racing, and to me, @geemac won it. Because it wasn’t done manually, the map misleadingly makes this track take a lot more roundabouts then there actually are. So the truth is that most of these straights are actually straight, and not filled with “chicanes”. Good job!

So @geemac, where are we to design the tracks?

  • Profile picture of GeeMac GeeMac said 5 months, 1 week ago:

    Apologies for the delay folks.

Let’s have the next lot of tracks in Johannesburg (my home city). Anything goes, provided it is between 4 and 8 kms. Enjoy!

Encircling around the zoo for this circuit, quite flowing aside from a couple of corners.

I chose to design my track on an area that I can’t name, but I think it’s mainly Northcliff.

    track Johannesburg 2

Quite flowing, with some overtaking opportunities. I think I never saw a track that was under 8 km that had the drivers pressing the throttle for so much time.

This one was tricky. Everything is really spaced out in Jo’burg, so it’s very easy to go over the 8km limit.
