Every driver’s ratings for wet, dry, and reliability is combined with a hidden team ratings for each of the three categories. This is added to a random number from 1-20. If it is one of the driver’s favorite tracks, one point is added. This process is repeated three times in Practice, where the highest number of points of the three times is the driver’s ‘fastest lap’. After Practice, points are reset so that the fastest driver in Practice has 25 points, the second fastest has 24, and so on. Qualifying works the same way as Practice, except the driver’s ‘fastest lap’ is added to the number of points after Practice. After Qualifying, points are reset so that the driver on Pole has 100 points, the second fastest qualifier has 96 points, and so on. In the Race, the basic process is repeated four times, and the race result is based on the sum total of the Qualifying reset points and the four Race segments combined.
