How about the 3673, which is how you’d type “Ford” on a mobile phone!

Ferrarri has a way of bending the rules to suit their need … some call that their ‘competitive spirit’. But to name their car the F150 is a laudible joke. I was ROFL … as I used to own one, and it is just about the farthest thought away from the visions, sounds, and performance in F1 as anyone can imagine. Italy is the Mother of the Corporate world and should know best how that game is played. But this doesn’t convey the image of Ferrarri in the best form either way you look at it … intentionally pick a ‘lack luster racing name (darn good truck name)’ or unintentionally pick the name because of poor research. Ya’ll should know by now that Europe isn’t the only car manufacture on the globe, and if any other car manufacture would have used a black stallion on red as their ichon, then it would be Ferrari raising the law suit. Maybe we should toss all the Lawyers in a shark tank. Let’s go racing!

    Aye!

Look at the Ferrari and Porsche logos. Both use ‘pracing horses’ (allegedly from the same origin – the Stuttgart coat of arms), both are black on yellow, both are facing to the left, there is however no dispute from either party and there never has been.

There is also Avanti (avanti.at) and Iron Horse Bicycles (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e2/Iron_Horse_Head_Badge.JPG) as noted in wikipedia.

Sometimes common sense is enough to distinguish between brands.

Er, the Ferrari ‘Prancing Horse’ has nothing to do with the Stuttgart coat of arms, it was a logo that Count Francesco Baracca used to paint on his WW1 planes to bring him good luck. The Counts mother suggested to Enzo Ferrari that he paint it on his racing cars to bring him luck also.

  • Profile picture of Bernard Bernard said 2 years, 3 months ago:

Indeed but it is alleged that he got the idea to paint the horse after downing a German pilot – who used one representing the Stuttgard coat of arms…

Ford suing Ferrari came as quite a joke to me considering how they treated people like Robert Kearns

Dammit Rabbit, your gravitar is much cuter than mine…. Although one could argue, mine appears more talented. :)

…and finally Ferrari dropped the F. “Ferrari 150° Italia” is even more rubbish than the previous name.

But – hurray! – the Horse Whisperer is back to avenge the team with his poisonous words!

“It might seem like a Kafkaesque scenario, but the affair relating to the name of the car with which Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will tackle this year’s Formula 1 World Championship saw its final and decisive episode played out these past few days with the concomitant withdrawal by Ford of the summons. Therefore common sense has prevailed.

In order to avoid the slightest risk of anyone confusing a Formula 1 car with a pick-up truck, for their part, the men from Maranello have decided that the car will lose the F that precedes the number 150 and which stands for Ferrari, as it has done on numerous occasions when it’s come to giving a car a code name, be it for the race track or the road. It appears that this could have caused so much confusion in the minds of the consumer across the Pond that, at the same time as losing the F, the name will be completely Italianised, replacing the English “th” with the equivalent Italian symbol.

Therefore the name will now read as the Ferrari 150° Italia, which should make it clear even to the thickest of people that the name of the car is a tribute to the anniversary of the unification of our country. Let’s hope the matter is now definitely closed and that we can concentrate on more serious matters, namely ensuring that our car that already seems to be pretty good out of the box, becomes a real winner.”

@Matt88 – Wow! Finally! But I don’t think it’s an improvement, and it’s rather late to change name. I’ll have to rename all my photos :(

  • Profile picture of Hare Hare said 2 years, 2 months ago:

I thought about this, and I”m going to respect the original name, the F150.

They only changed it when Ford started moaning, so the F150 is it. I don’t care for Ford’s short sightedness..
