F1 Fanatic - F1
Just seen this on F1 on Sky. No idea what’s happened yet.
Every mechanic in the pitlane is taking part in trying to put this fire out.
Everyone is being moved out of the paddock.
Lots of concern about cars and trucks out the back of the garage.
The fire has now spread to Caterham, Sauber, Toro Rosso and Force India. Everyone’s fleeing apart from the guys fighting the fire. Very brave.
It’s not a small fire either so I wonder what was happening there? On the F1 Forum I saw Lotus mechanics running up the paddock with fire extinguishers as well so it seems everyone is trying to help.
Update: Possible KERS fire/explosion.
Damn, I can’t get my Sky Sports stream to work! Images, anyone??
Poor Pastor being stopped for pictures when he’s just trying to find his Fiancée.
BBC’s just gone off air (red button forum has finished) – keep us posted please guys.
Guys covered in extinguisher foam everywhere. People still worried, being shepherded away.
Apparently Senna’s car looks VERY badly damaged.
Everyone being moved out of the pit lane.
BBC said there were injuries before going offline.
Force India mechanic taken to Hospital.
The garage has been gutted and Senna’s car has been destroyed as far as I know.
Oh boy… just looking some of the pics: http://twitpic.com/9kobe8 https://twitter.com/#!/sdainyeccion/status/201694439289266176/photo/1
Jeez – hope everyone got out alright…
Think the fire’s all out now. Lots of teams helped, great to see, and everyone moved out flammable things asap to stop more stuff going up.
Head counts going on now.
