Deathmatch Racing: Remove all design constraints and regulations, and allow teams to develop weaponry and armour for their vehicles. The winner is the person who finishes first but drivers may take any measures they wish to see that their competitors don’t.
Speeds will be reduced by the inevitable need for heavier armour, thus keeping the health and safety lobby happy.
    Flawless.

There should definitely be a James Bond style oil release system, caltraps along the back of the car that can be released at any time, a small gun with up to 20 shots available per race and a catch fence that can be activated by each driver once a race.

Not a video game idea, but: the Dark Knight Save. Just like in the film, if your car is damaged the central section detaches and you can blast around on a motorbike instead.

The “accidental controller unplug’ is a particularly inspired idea.

This thread is probably the only place where Bernie could have discussed his shortcuts and sprinkler ideas without sounding senile.

I also like the Burnout approach. Instead of being penalised for contact, drivers are rewarded with extra (possibly KERS) boost if they smash a competitor out of the race, minor boost for just scraping, and signature special trophies (and maybe points in an additional ‘drivers signature’ championship) for special takedowns- into any notable objects around the track, such as the harbour in Monaco or towards the old banking at Monza.
