    1. What country are you in (and state, if applicable)
    Uganda
    2. Which channels broadcast F1 near you?
The only way of watching F1 is via a satellite TV provider called MultiChoice DSTV – a South African company operating across Africa. F1 is broadcast on any of the roughly 10 SuperSport channels that they broadcast.
    3. Do they show all the races live or only a limited number (if so, how many?)
    All
    4. Do they also show qualifying live?
    Yes
    5. Do they also show practice sessions live?
    Yes
    6. If they are a subscription channel, what does a full year’s subscription cost (excluding limited time offers)?
To watch F1 (and indeed most other sports), one has to subscribe for the Premium package which costs US$82 per month. That is US$984 per year.
    7. Do they broadcast coverage online? If so please post link/s
They claim to provide a live stream via the SuperSport site (www.supersport.com) for registered bona-fide subscribers but it has NEVER worked for me :-(
    8. Please supply any other relevant information such as alternative viewing options
Unfortunately, apart from the usual lousy online streams that one occasionally comes across when you search really hard, there’s no alternative viewing option (as of now). It may be interesting to note that we always receive the BBC commentary for all sessions (James Allen and the 5 live team for practice sessions, Coulthard and Edwards for qualifying and the race). This is the case even for the races that the BBC doesn’t broadcast live in the UK. Unfortunately, we don’t get any of the pre-session buildup coverage (Suzi Perry and team). Something else to note – we do get the HD broadcast alongside the SD. But to view HD content, you need an HD decoder that costs about $350 (about 4 times the SD decoder)

Sky Deutschland Sports costs 24,90 a month, with an extra 10 for hd. so that is less than 300 euros a year, which includes a ton of other things (for example hbo), and 420 euros with hd.

I should add to the above that TSN provides the BBC’s race coverage and it is commercial-filled. (split screen so you can still see the race in a small box but the commercial is larger and with audio of course)

There is also zero pre- or post-race coverage and no “weekly” show at all. I have to go online to Torrent Sky’s F1 Show to get a weekly recap as well as post-race coverage the next day once those torrents are active. (a big thank you to the people who do that!)

Basically, TSN’s F1 coverage is the absolute bare-bones possible and it’s a complete fluke that I’m an F1 fan. Being an F1 fan in Canada is very difficult. They don’t make it easy.

It is a custom in China that the sports on TV should be free.I can watch NBA, FIFA, Liverpool and many others on TV and they all free.
One reason may be that not all the channel are independent, and it relates to the local or central GOV and the GOV can support them.

Thanks to everyone who’s contributed here so far.

I’m intending to update the main page soon so if there’s any new information which needs adding for your territory please do so, and if any of the information is wrong please ensure it is flagged up.

Please complete one set of questions for each channel/network which broadcasts F1 in your country

For those in the UK, Sky has increased the price of a Sky Sports subscription from £22 to £24.50:

    http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/sports/

So for new F1 subscribers the minimum price for a year’s subscription is now £577 (minimum 12 month Sky contract at £21.50 per month, plus Sky Sports at £24.50 per month, plus £25 set-up fee).

As far as I’m aware those who signed up under the old ‘HD pack’ will continue to receive the channel through that cheaper arrangement, but it hasn’t been available to new customers for some time.

As always, Sky’s subscription packages are complicated so it’s possible I’ve overlooked some option, so if anyone spots any better deals so say. For those willing to stream online be aware of this offer available at the moment.
