Just a bit off topic.. I visited my cousin in london recently. He has the sky f1 package. It seems really expensive to justify. Another bad thing i noticed in my visit was that my cousin’s friends were streaming f1 illegaly. These expensive packages are a bad thing for the long term, aren’t they?

Is this the cheapest, legal, way to watch F1. You require the M+ TV package with TIVO box (£13/month) and phone line (£15.99/month). If new customer reduced for 1st 6 months. Bundles that include mobile and/or broadband are also available, subject to area coverage. The Big Kahuna bundle then costs £150

      up front

    for 10 months.

    That I make out would be £28.99 * 12 = £347.88,
    + £150 = £497.88

@w-k Thanks for the tip. Is this for the UK?

What does it cost without the introductory discounts?

Also, can you actually subscribe for just 10 months? Ordinarily there’s a minimum 12-month requirement.

This is for the UK, link is https://my.virginmedia.com/customer-news/articles/sports-season-ticket.html

The price I gave is the full price after any introductory discount. Discount price for new customers is £6.50 for the M+ pack plus the line rental of £15.99
The offer is described as a 10 month season ticket, for the football season, obviously.

I am a long term Virgin subscriber as I cannot receive any satellite signals, and therefore in my negotiations I managed to get a £5/month loyalty discount as well. The bundle not only includes the 6 channels from Sky sports but adds in the Eurosports and BT sports channels. These are usually only available in Virgins XL package (£23/month, i.e. £10/month more) which is a couple of steps above the M+ package required as minimum.

Thanks again for your contributions everyone. I intend to update the table during the August break so do add, amend or update any details for your country using the usual details:

Please complete one set of questions for each channel/network which broadcasts F1 in your country

    1. What country are you in (and state, if applicable)

    2. Which channels broadcast F1 near you?
No need to include details for broadcasters from other countries whose transmissions you can receive

    3. Do they show all the races live or only a limited number (if so, how many?)

    4. Do they also show qualifying live? (if so, how many?)

    5. Do they also show practice sessions live? (if so, how many?)

    6. If they are a subscription channel, what does a full year’s subscription cost (excluding limited time offers)?
Imagine you’ve just bought a TV and paid any taxes or licenses necessary to operate it. What is the minimum you then have to pay per year in order to watch F1?

    7. Do they broadcast coverage online? If so please post link/s

    8. Please supply any other relevant information such as alternative viewing options
    E.g. Apps

Coverages, qualifications and races are also available for replay on Playstation 3 & 4, Xbox (in the coming weeks), Samsung & Sony Smart TVs.

    Cheers

I am in the UK and have Sky Variety pack + HD at £33.75/month = £405/year. That gives me SkyF1 HD and Sky Go.

That gets me all the sessions live, GP2/3, reruns and a constant stream of old races. Sound is 5.1 surround sound. It also has the Sky Race Control with driver tracker (very laggy and flaky).

I have the FOM Live Timing app on my phone (£7.50), which I use on an adjustable arm next to my laptop with the TV in front.

If anyone knows a better Driver Tracker I’d be grateful to know.

    1. What country are you in (and state, if applicable)
    Argentina

    2. Which channels broadcast F1 near you?
    Fox Sports (Latin America)

    3. Do they show all the races live or only a limited number (if so, how many?)
    All of them

    4. Do they also show qualifying live?
Yes (and it depends – see question 6)

    5. Do they also show practice sessions live?
    Depends (see question 6)

    6. If they are a subscription channel, what does a full year’s subscription cost (excluding limited time offers)?
It’s not free, you’ve got to pay for the provider. Depending on what pack you’ve got (standard vs digital+HD), you get all the races and qualy live and some practice sessions live too (depends what other sporting event is taking place which might be more important).

HD pack costs around 1600 pesos a year (roughtly 1500 euros).
The standard, non HD shows every race live, and a couple of repeats during Sunday most of the time and it’s considerably cheaper…

    7. Do they broadcast coverage online? If so please post link/s
    Nope.

    8. Please supply any other relevant information such as alternative viewing options
I have the HD pack, so I watch the race on the telly and listen to SkyF1 coverage from illegal online streams on my laptop. There’s a bit of a gap between what’s happening on both broadcasts but it works just fine!

For the Belgian GP only, F1 will get from behind the pay-wall in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. Qualy will be shown on “Een” (first net of the public broadcast) and the race on “Canvas” (second net of the public broadcast).
