I’d like to see Hulkenberg get the driver if not Chandhok. Liuzzi has been poor this year and Di Resta isn’t even racing in a single seater series.

This is a tough call for Force India. Personally I think they should discount Liuzzi, he’s done almost nothing of note in his fairly substantial F1 career to date.

I’m a big Sutil fan. I know he’s not top drawer, but I think he’s proven to be a decent driver over the course of the last 4 years at the team, and on his day he is a match for anyone. I think people tend to forget how impressive he was at times in 2010- it was only in the second half of the season that he tailed off, and was overtaken by Schumacher and Barrichello in the drivers standings. He’s a good mix of speed, experience and money!

So then it comes down to di Resta and Hulkenberg. Presumably this all boils down to a question of Mercedes’ love: whoever Norbert Haug puts his faith in as Schumacher’s long term successor will get the nod. I suspect Hulkenberg is the more talented of the two, but it’s hard to tell given how little experience di Resta has had in single seaters in recent years.

And even if they are completely equal, don’t forget that Hulkenberg is German- and we all know how much that floats Mercedes’ boat!

I can’t say I’ve ever really rated Sutil. He couldn’t even beat Fisichella regularly, if at all, in his 1.5 years up against him.

Then in 2010, he was much better, but still flattered by his poor team-mate. He’s had four full time years in F1, but probably still shown less potential than Hulkenberg has in 1.

If I were Mallya, I would take Hulk and Di Resta, with Chandhok as test driver. It would be unfair for other drivers to skip the queue ahead of Di Resta considering he has been testing and reserving for them, and I don’t think they would do that.

I agree with ed. All change at Force India, who’ve suffered more from a change in personnel than drivers. Sutil can go to Renault if he’s any good, if not then bye bye Adrian. Other drivers always rated him but in four years he hasn’t shown much ability.

I’m not sure thats entirely fair on Sutil – his performances at Monaco have always been good, particularly in the rain.

However, I do think that on the whole, Findia would be hardpressed to get a more exciting driver lineup than Di Resta and Hulkenberg. I’m happy to have people quote me on this if I turn out to be wrong, but Di Resta is a star in the making.

Also, if Di Resta doesn’t get this drive, I reckon he will be the next Gary Paffett. Never getting anywhere in F1, but tremendous success elsewhere

I just hope at least one of the two (Hulk and DiResta) gets a drive there, and that Chandhok gets a reserve drive. I’ll be bitterly disappointed if the lineup remains unchanged.

lets face it, does it really matter who gets to drive next year cos theyll still be making up the numbers (unfortunalely)
    sblot

Uh Oh, Sutil-M won’t be happy with that sblot!

    I like Sutil for 2 reasons;

    1) He’s called Adrian – there aren’t enough people called Adrian in the public eye (I don’t count Adrian Chiles for obvious reasons)

    2) When in a post-race interview last year (I don’t remember what race) a girl said hello to him and the interviewer asked if knew them and his response was “Not yet” – priceless!!

That said, I think Force India should strike while the iron’s hot and sign The Hulk and put Di Resta in a race seat. I could then see Sutil becoming Mercedes’ test/reserve driver.

I want to see Di Resta given a race seat – he deserves it, way more than Liuzzi who has only proven out his mediocrity in 2010.

The other Force India seat and the second Renault seat should be occupied by Sutil and Hulkenberg if Mallya & Lopez have any sense at all. Both ways round would be interesting, but I think perhaps, given the choice, I’d like to see Sutil in a different team.

The comparison between him and Kubica would be fascinating, and I reckon closer than many would predict. Hulkenberg versus Di Resta would be a battle of hungry young talents, which you might expect Hulkenberg to win based on his year’s race experience.

Paul di Resta’s official website has a countdown clock on it that lists his “next drive” as being the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, it may be that he is only driving in Friday practice there.

I want all three of them to have a drive for next season but only two can drive for force india and the third drivers only options will be
toro rosso(even though i don’t think they’ll change their driver line up) and HRT

I’d like to see this driver line up
    Sutil
    Hulkenberg

FI test driver or HRT driver: di Resta, Chandhok (If he’s going to be FI TD maybe he’ll drive in india!)

Di Resta should have gotten a seat in 2010, I dont see why they would keep him as a tester for so long and not give him the drive.

Luizzi I hear is good in a go kart, but is yet to cut it in f1. I’ve mentioned this before but without testing how can young drivers adapt, therefore leading to improvement, therefore leading to more sponsorship, allowing talented drivers to get drives instead of cashed up ponies. In saying that, I believe Hulkenberg would be a far better investment than both Sutil and Luizzi, while Di Resta Has had enough time as a tester now and should be able to prove himself
