Wow, calm down rojov! They do have a strong looking driver line up, but that doesn’t neccessarily mean their future is bright.

Here’s a much more pessimistic scenario: Hulkenberg moves to Mercedes to replace Schumi, the lack of top drawer engineers at the team sees them drop to the bottom of the midfield and into the grasp of the improving new teams, the Indian GP is a flop and raises no real interest in F1 amongst Indian fans and companies, Vijay Mallya decides the team is costing him too much money and sells up.

The reality I think will be somewhere in between- Force India are the archetypal midfield team

That Willi Webber quote is fun, though I think Hulkenburg might be better served getting track time in a Force India, McLaren has better links to Merc, and would probably give him more time to race in other series. Especially as they’ve already got Paffet.

Seems very odd that Whitmarsh feels he has to protect Button from Hulkenburg, possibly Webber enjoying himself with the media, jibing Whitmarsh for not giving his boy the seat. Cause a bit of trouble, probably won’t do his relationship with McLaren any good, not that he seems to care, was saying a year back that his aim for Hulkenburg was Ferrari. My god I hope one day Ferrari stops capturing all these minds as the ultimate place a driver could possibly be. Almost hope Monty brings back the good old days when Ferrari hadn’t been winning enough to delude themselves into thinking they where more important than the sport.

If I was Hulkenburg I’d have tried to get a race seat at Virgin or Torro Rosso, an aim to beat my teamate, that would keep him race sharp if an oppourtunity came up, an provide more chances to impress, he’s got the talent.

That’s pretty much the contents of the first article that was posted.

Hmmm… I’m not entirely sure that McLaren does have stronger links to Mercedes as Scribe has suggested. Since the ‘semi divorce’ in 2009 McLaren have seemed far more like an independent team, whereas the Mercedes influence at Force India seems to be becoming pretty strong

I agree with Sutil-M that Hulk and Sutil should get the seats for 2011. Force India should drop Liuzzi and Di Resta would be the test driver. If Sutil falters then Di Resta would get the seat. There should be a mention for Heidfeld for insurance purposes just in case the last scenario happens.

Blick have retracted their article. Sutil’s manager claims that Force India’s driver line-up won’t be known for another two weeks at most.

Your probably right Ned, although, Mercedes has lots of influence at Force India, I reckon there still likley to sit up and take more notice when McLaren calls them, or ask them for something etc, take them more seriously than Force India.

What I ment was it’s seems like a team that was absolutly married to Mercedes in 09, despite becoming independent, is probably likley to still have stronger and more equal links to the manufacturor, than a customer-independent team where their influence might be growing.

Also if Hulkenburg was to get racetime in a McLaren, it’d probably mean more to Mercedes than if he got simular in the Force India.

    Still, I’m totaly speculating
