I’m not sure who I’d make one about, but you could probably make a good film out of the 2007 season.

The Flyin finn – Mika Hakkinen.
It took him a while to even record his first win.
He had a horrendous life threatening injury, after which he became the only driver to realistically challenge the statistically great Shumi at his peak. Not just once, but twice – 1998 AND 1999 WDC
He then changed formulae – though unfortunately could not repeat his form.
It would make a GREAT movie – similar to a phoenix from the flames. Movie kind of stuff !!!!

You have made a good point there Ads21, and as it comes about, I am currently writing an alternative story novel on the 2007 season with a friend of mine, known as Sutil-M in the comments. Titled Friends and Enemies.

But I think a film about Barrichello, Alonso, Prost or even Nelson Piquet j.r (yes j.r!) would be interesting.

Jochen Rindt: The story of 1970 is my favorite story in F1.

spoiler alert: Rindt dies halfway through the season and his team-mates race in the last two races to ensure Rindt wins the World Championship.

Prequel should be based on Jim Clark, and a sequel should tell the story of Emerson Fittipaldi. A Lotus trilogy – Fantastic.

Steph: The end isn’t great but when he gets the championship it’ll be a much more cheery ending.

That’s a great quote Steph, I’m loving the blind optimism and faith and it’s good to know I’m not the only one who thinks he should, could and hopefully will win a Championship sometime !

I just hope it’s next season’s Championship and he does it in a Ferrari !

I’ve thought of a few more I’ll add to my list –

Eddie Jordan, Peter Sauber and the infamous Flavio.

Thank you Beneboy! Glad you think he can/will too :) It would be wonderful if he could do it in a Ferrari with the relationship he has with that team.

I would make a film about Adrian Newey, because of the wonderful job this guy does behind the scenes.

Above all, I think I’d say Jackie Stewart. He wasn’t just a sublimely brilliant driver, he could see the madness around him for what it was and got out before it killed him.

    -Keith Collantine

Not to mention that he was almost single-handedly responsible for bringing safety into the sport, without which we probably wouldn’t have modern F1.

These are all good, but I would love to see a Fangio one most of all. Just seeing a recreation of those fantastic classic tracks, and his performance at the 1957 German Grand Prix would be worth price of admission. El Maestro indeed.
