    I think certain chicanes, especially those that stretch the spaces between cars could be removed. For instance Monza doesn’t need the first chicane any more, I’d say. However Mark Webbers crash could have been an awful lot worse if it occured there.

    You always got to consider the endless possibilities for accidents when talking about circuit saftey, sure the cars are fantastically safe, but it’s still open cockpit racing, an while I think a lot of circuits have been over insured, I certainly wouldn’t take the risk of making circuits more dangerous.

    The first chicane at Monza invariably leads to crashes, particularly at the start I feel. The issue, I think, though that the FIA has is Cornering Speeds.
