How do you explain Mercedes losing its speed in race???
Tyre degradation on heavy fuel loads. Nico Rosberg said as much.
JB NEVER had the upper hand over Hamilton during Q1, Q2 or Q3… and yet… in race, he clocks 2 seconds a lap quicker than Hamilton??
Because he’s a smarter racer. Because tactically, he’s the best on the grid. Because he was more confident in the car. There’s probably a dozen other reasons why. But mostly, because racing and qualifying aren’t the same thing. You should have noticed as much from the lap times. Button uses the added weight of the fuel to moderate the temperature of his tyres, whereas Hamilton uses inertia from weaving to get the temperature up. Two totally different driving styles.
Why is it hard to fathom the fact that the safety car was planned??
Because there was no reason for the safety car to be planned. Nobody could say with any certainty that they would gain from it while all their rivals lost out.
It has happened before!
Really? When? At the Never Grand Prix?
I just find it curious that BOTH McLarens and SV´s RB8 changed tyres before the SC came out! And I also find it curious that it was Petrov
I’m afraid I don;t see the connection.
he could´ve perfectly have driven down to the end of the pitlane and park it right there… not in the middle of the straight!
Evidently not, since the car was clearly broken when he turned onto the straight.
Even with his myriad of problems – he had about four – Petrov was still doing similar laptimes to Kovalainen (who, like Petrov, was also missing his KERS). So Caterham are actually looking pretty racy this year, even if they don’t have the one-lap pace for Q2.
What are those two guys doing riding around with Bernie??
It’s not a conspiracy. All of the drivers are on good terms with Bernie.
