Live timing alternative (6 posts)

With Java and everything surrounding it, is there any good alternative for live timing? It was a bit strange to watch today’s race without it and a bit harder to follow! Any suggestions what to use in Malaysia?

I read that there’s an open source live timing program somewhere, but I don’t remember much more. I poked around its website and it looked decent, but didn’t get a chance to try it out.

I posted this elsewhere on the forum but there is F1LT which is worth a look, there is an Android version as well. The website is http://www.f1lt.pl :-)

I saw this thread earlier in the week, and decided to give F1LT a go.
It’s provides much more than the official timing service does.

After using it to watch qualifying, I will definitely be using it during the race. I’ve been without the official timing for a while now (refusing to install Java, and the program itself being buggy), but I’m looking forward to finally being able to see what’s going on.
