Well we’re due a decision from the courts soon aren’t we to sort all this crap out?

Not anytime soon I’m afraid. I don’t think it’s up in the courts until sometime in July. Can anyone confirm?

Unlikely. Conservative estimates suggest the courts will not produce a verdict until August at the earliest. No doubt there’s a backlog of cases that need to be resolved before Lotus and Lotus can have their day in court. You don’t just say “We’ll see you in court” and then show up the next day – a date for the hearing is set, and you need to take time to prepare your arguments. It’s a long and drawn-out process because it needs to take time in order to come to a resolution.

What I don’t like is the FIA have been very silent about all this. We’re facing the ridiculous situation of having two teams with the same name in the same language and they don’t seem to really care.

Fair point PM. Little naive of me to think it would be so soon I guess! For some reason I had January in my head…

I assume the FIA will wade in at some point and bang their heads together…but at the moment it may be wise to leave them to it…generate some off-track off-season interest?

Contrary to how it ealier appeared, according to Autosport, the Renault launch at autosport international show is only a livery launch :(

Only a livery launch? Damn, i’ll be going to the Autosport show this year again, there will be much more interesting things going on than a Renault launch though.

Ahhh that’s a shame. Was looking forward to that, at least I wont need to waste time hanging around that area now.

This is how Team Lotus(Lotus Racing)’s black and gold livery would’ve looked like
(looks much better than the one renault showed up)

The FIA haven’t intervened because they have no cause to. In the case of Lotus Renault GP, Renault is the constructor. In the case of Team Lotus, Lotus is th constructor. There’s no conflict there, and they cannot start dictating who is and who isn’t allowed to sponsor which teams.
