Is this the curse of Rossi?
24th October 2014, 16:32 at 4:32 pm #280236DanParticipantIf that’s the case then its really sad as they are having the best season for them since they started scorring 2 points its a shame there isn’t a way they could borrow some money and pay it back out of next years prize money, be complex to sort out but plausible in my view
24th October 2014, 17:45 at 5:45 pm #280243R.J. O’ConnellParticipantPlease tell me this is just an unfounded rumor.
24th October 2014, 18:51 at 6:51 pm #280248Craig WoollardParticipantThey’re not on my trusted sources list. I won’t read too much into it.
Keith’s on my trusted sources list though. Once I see it on here (or Autosport) then I will believe it.
24th October 2014, 19:26 at 7:26 pm #280250AnonymousInactiveSo a handful of European journalists have spread a rumour, which was then collated and run on a dubious website?
Yes, that sounds like a very sound story …
24th October 2014, 23:03 at 11:03 pm #280257Keith CollantineKeymasterI haven’t seen an original source for this story, does anyone have a link to one?
25th October 2014, 0:39 at 12:39 am #280263SPParticipantAfter the shenanigans with Rossi\Chilton at Spa and the collapse of the Marussia car company, this isn’t really a far-fetched scenario…
25th October 2014, 9:22 at 9:22 am #280278AnonymousInactiveI’d rather see a string of pay drivers in these cars than have a team go under.
25th October 2014, 10:17 at 10:17 am #280281EnigmaParticipantFrom a credible source:
@Marussia_F1Team will not be going to Austin and nor will @CaterhamF1. Bernie just told me. #F1 #USGP

25th October 2014, 11:19 at 11:19 am #280283sato113Participantwhat will happen to qualifying?
25th October 2014, 11:26 at 11:26 am #280284EnigmaParticipant14 cars will make Q2 I suspect. It’s always so that 10 make Q3, and half of the rest make Q2. It was adjusted mid-season before when Super Aguri folded.
25th October 2014, 14:54 at 2:54 pm #280287FrancorchampsParticipantThere will be only 17 cars running in quali with Marussia and Catheram out and Vettel starting from the pitlane.
…25th October 2014, 20:47 at 8:47 pm #280301AnonymousInactiveThis came as a surprise to me because they’ve never given any indication things were that dire. Even now, the team itself has said nothing. It was only a week ago they were saying they would be entering 2 cars in the remaining races to safeguard their 9th place in the championship. So what is going on?!
25th October 2014, 21:21 at 9:21 pm #280304BullfrogParticipantWere Marussia saving mileage, big time, on engines and other parts in Sochi then?
That would be an effect of the gesture with Bianchi’s car, and Chilton’s mysterious retirement. And I thought this was an interesting theory. But if it’s true, why aren’t Sauber and Lotus missing the last 3?
With Caterham out of the mix, 10th at worst is guaranteed for Marussia. Makes sense to miss final 3 and focus resources on 2015.
