I seem to remember in 2007 that McLaren decided their Q3 (race fuel) strategy for their two drivers by Q2. Something along the lines of whoever got the faster Q2 time got 1 lap more fuel or such?
Can anyone remember what it was? Or better yet – an article which substantiates it?
Thank you very much – any and all help is appreciated.
i doubt that would have been noted/recorded fia, let alone mclaren
I was Googling to see what I could find on this, when I found the very reason you were asking this. :)
Anyway, I recall something very similar. The faster guy in Q2 gets to choose his preferred fuel strategy, with the slower guy getting 1 more lap of Q3/race fuel (unless he chooses to carry more than that and go on a totally different strategy).
