OK, so Summer has started for only about 10 days and I’m already bored. With us being 9 races into the season, and only 11 races to go. We are, give or take, mid-way a thrilling season. I don’t want to wait another two weeks to do these awards, so I’ll do them now.

11th July 2012, 1:43 at 1:43 am #205381JayParticipantDisappointment of the year has to be the way Mclaren have gone backwards, from having the best car at Melbourne to what they currently have now…4th in constructors says it all, to not take advantage really has been a huge disappointment, Hamilton should of had a decent lead by now, if it wasn’t for silly mistakes by Mclaren…

Drivers champion: Too unpredictable but Alonso does look good for it.11th July 2012, 6:43 at 6:43 am #205385KingsharkParticipantFor clarification and to avoid any confusion; there is indeed a difference between the season rating and the championship rating.
Season rating → How good is the racing?
Championship rating → How exciting is the championship? For example, 2007 had horrible racing but a brilliant championship. 2011 was the exact opposite. This season however, in my opinion we’ve got the best of both sides. :)

That’s actually what performance of the year is suppose to be. Ah well, I guess I’m not very good at clarifying a meaning. :|
11th July 2012, 7:54 at 7:54 am #205389the_sigmanParticipant@kingshark : Sorry mate. At the start Ithou it was what you meant but then I saw the others best performance and I saw what they had and wrote about Pirelli. My fault, I must learn not relying on others about understanding things
11th July 2012, 8:21 at 8:21 am #205390TodfodParticipantBest driver: Fernando Alonso. Hands down the class of the field this year.
Worst driver: Karthikeyan. People could argue whether he deserved a spot on the grid in 2005.. but no one defend that statement right now. Some drivers just aren’t f1 material, and Karthikeyan is a shining example.
Best team: Red Bull
Worse team: HRT
Most improved driver: Mark Webber. Definitely a huge improvement from last season
Least improved driver: Glock
Most improved team: Williams. No doubt about it
Least improved team: Ferrari
Best rookie: Grosjean
Best race: Valencia GP. Never thought I would pick this GP in a million years!
Worse race: Monaco
Best performance: Hamilton in Canada
Best season moment: Alonso’s celebrations in Valencia

Drivers champion? Fernando Alonso11th July 2012, 9:28 at 9:28 am #205391andae23ParticipantBest driver: Fernando Alonso – without a doubt
Worst driver: Bruno Senna – not anywhere near his teammate.
Best team: McLaren – not because of their drivers, but looking at technical innovation they have been the leading team by a long way.
Worst team: HRT – have been more busy Spanifying their team than actually improving their performance: the car must be the least inspired design of the last 10 year.
Most improved driver: Romain Grosjean – great driver
Least improved driver: Jenson Button – what happened to him?
Most improved team: Williams
Least improved team: HRT again
Best rookie: ‘rookie’ Grosjean
Best race: Valencia
Worst race: Bahrain – for political reasons
Best performance: Pastor Maldonado in Spain
Best season moment: Alonso’s Valencia celebration
