Monaco – Petrov Pit Stop (4 posts)

On Vitaly’s pit stop, his crew all raises their hands that they are completed (and they were) and for about two seconds Petrov just sits motionless. All I could hear was an odd clicking sound and then he leaves the box. Anyone got any idea what that was all about?
Also, weren’t the trophies great? They were gold, silver and bronze just like the Olympic medals.

Yes the trophies were wonderful: the simple but clever design and the fantastic colouring.
No idea about his stop though.

BBC commentators suggested he was in neutral, weird that the engine wasn’t revving though.

“Box full of neutrals” was Martin Brundle’s observation…..
