Whilst browsing the Google Maps and StreetView site for business information, I happned upon the fact that if you own a unique piece of land, you can ask Google to come visit it with their 360 degree panoramic cameras and photograph it all for the world to see.

One of the examples happens to be Laguna Seca. What’s great is they’ve taken the photos during what appears to be an ALMS practise session, and give the illusion that the google car is taking part in a race (apart from when you reach the Corkscrew, when course cars on the track ruin it!).

    anyway, here’s the link:

Anyone know of any other tracks that have had this treatment?

Yes, it does, but seeing as it’s public roads, it’s kind of a given, along with Monaco and Marina Bay (although not Montreal, and Valencia wasn’t built yet).

But purpose-built race tracks? Gonna have to do some Google Maps searching, methinks.

I’ll ask since no one else has:

Why the heck is the google camera car on track with a bunch of Le Mans Prototypes!!!
