To help pass the time until March here is a new game to play! I’ll start us off by listing four (or more) F1 drivers/teams/circuits/seasons, and the next commentee has to guess who the odd one out is and why. There may be multiple answers so a hint may be provided by the question asker! All clear?! Here goes:
Hint: WDC showdowns.
Fernando Alonso, because he has never taken over the lead of the world championship in the final race (Villeneuve 1997, Hakkinen 1999, Raikkonen 2007)
I would have to guess that Kimi is the odd one out for not managing to beat Schumi at a WDC showdown (last round).
You are all right in some way but the answer I was looking for was @Iestyn Davies ! Your go!
Jacques Villeneuve, for being from a non-european country ;)
Jacques Villeneuve for being the only of the four drivers to win the championship in Europe :)
Alonso in Brasil x2, Hakkinen in Japan x2, Raikkonen in Brasil and Villeneuve in Spain :)
I like all the answers, but I’m afraid that @fastiesty got the one I was after! If one isn’t posted soon feel free to step in with your own!!
Some fascinating answers so far! OK, here’s one from me:
Hint: Similar theme to @ben-n!
Frentzen was not involved in title showdowns?
@fastiesty Frentzen was never a World Champion.
Damon Hill, cuz he was the only one that didnt drive in the 21st century??
I’ll go Frentzen, because he was the only who wasn’t involved in a collision that decided the championship.
Some interesting answers! Although, perhaps I should give a better hint, as my original was too vague.
Better hint: A particular WDC Showdown.
