Damon Hill – Only man not involved in Jerez 1997?
Ah ok. Damon Hill is the odd one out then. Frentzen, Schumacher and Villeneuve miraculously all managed to achieve the same pole position time in Jerez 97.
damon hill, only one that didn’t have the same qualifying time at Jerez 1997
the other three all ended up with identical times
oh damn, u beat me by 1 minute
Going out on a limb here: Damon Hill; the only one to never be involved with Sauber at any stage in his career.
Hmm, sounds like a tie! Apt given the answer! But @debaser91 has it in the posting order. Unlucky @lotus22! @bradley13 you have the Frentzen role here! Or perhaps Hill (4th on the grid, less than a tenth from a pole position in an Arrows-Yamaha!).. Frentzen letting Villeneuve pass on lap 8 set up the title showdown later in the race (Schumi vs. Villeneuve).
Interestingly, it’s been said that if Schumi hadn’t tried to break Villeneuve’s suspension (repeating 1994’s success on Hill), Jacques might have overshot the corner and been in the grass/gravel, that Schumi then got stuck in with a broken right front wheel….. If only Schumi had done a cutback instead!
PS. Not sure if Hill ever had a test with Sauber (when Frentzen took his seat)? That’s one to check out on grandprix.com news archives!
I knew what I meant… :P
Alright I got one:
Here’s a hint: each of them did it in a different year
Grosjean, didn’t score points in his first season in F1.
Grosjean, didn’t move teams.
Dion, thats valid but not what I was thinking of, and sigman, i dont think you can count 2009 as grosjean’s first season
its a bit more obscure
Is it Mark Webber, as he is the only one not to have won the GP2 championship?
