Is this the beginning of the end or the start of F1 moving onto bigger and better things?

News Corp and Carlos Slim ( the richest man in the world) are in talks with the Formula One Group to buy the commercial rights to F1.

can’t help thinking that F1 would loose it’s global appeal if it went to a Pay to view television network like Sky.

F1 can’t afford to go to a Pay to view network, it’s only recently getting mega global interest.

On a more down to earth level, I don’t think Murdoch loves the sport, Bernie has been in motorsport for ages and there is some passion for it there. Murdoch would own it without caring.

It’s not just Murdoch in the bid – it’s Carlos Slim, too. Which means that the sport may not go straight to Pay TV. And while Murdoch might not love the sport, Carlos Slim is heavily invested in it.
