@craig-o – The way this game works is that whoever gets the question right is the person who asks the next question. So it’s Bleu’s turn to ask a question.

    I post a sequence question:

Jenson Button, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, ?

  • Profile picture of Prisoner Monkeys Prisoner Monkeys said 1 year, 4 months ago:

I’m going to say Nigel Mansell.

Button drove for five teams before winning his title.
    Mansell drove for four.
    Senna drove for three.
    Prost drove for two.

Also, they all won their first titles with British teams – Brawn, Lotus, McLaren and Williams.

    Not Mansell.

A bit illogical thinking for the answer since that suggests the sequence is Button, x, Senna, Prost.

    Something to do with Honda?

I thought the link was the last reigning world champions who had a former world champion (at the time) as a teammate, but couldn’t find a fourth driver who this fitted?

    Mclaren 2010 (Button 09, Hamilton 08)
    Mclaren 1989 (Senna 88, Prost 85, 86)
    Mclaren 1986 (Prost 85, Rosberg 82)

PM, Senna didn’t win a title with Lotus.

Thought it was drivers who won a championship during their first year at a team, but I can’t see any sequence to that.

Anything to do with wet races?

  • Profile picture of paulgilb paulgilb said 1 year, 4 months ago:

Vittorio Brambilla (the last 4 drivers to score half-point wins)?

  • Profile picture of Bleu Bleu said 1 year, 4 months ago:

    @paulgilb

    That’s it!

    Button – Malaysia 2009, Senna – Australia 1991, Prost – Monaco 1984, Brambilla – Austria 1975

    OK then – who’s next:

Keke Rosberg, Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher, …?

  • Profile picture of Enigma Enigma said 1 year, 4 months ago:

World champions in the years that end with 2, starting with the 80s?
Rosberg 82, Mansell 92, Schumacher 02. Most likely Vettel I think.

    I may be wrong =)

That is not the answer that I am looking for =)

My guess would be Kimi Räikkönen, and the connection something to do with World Champions retiring from the sport. Rosberg said he retired “too soon” and was close to a comeback with Jordan (I think), Mansell made a comeback after a year and a half out of the sport, Michael Schumacher came back after three years out, and now Räikkönen is about to make a comeback. That’s just a rough idea, though; I don’t know what the exact connection is.

    Nothing to do with retirements.
